Road to the World Cup: Senegal key winner confirmed

Another Premier League top performer has earned a key in our Road to the World Cup campaign!

In Round 33 of our Premier League Predictor, 'Wildje' (Anže Pavlič from Slovenia) had the highest score of any Superbru player which has earned him the Senegal key and therefore a place in our Superbru 48 cash prize league.

If you still don't know about the Road to the World Cup campaign we are running, read the full article explainer here. The Superbru 48 is an exclusive league that will be made up of 48 key holders in this summer's World Cup Predictor. The total prize pot in the Superbru 48 will be at least £2,500. You can read about the prizes here.

The winning predictions

Anže won the Slovenia key with 27 points across the 13 matches in Round 33. 2nd and 3rd place in the round had 26 and 25 points respectively.

With an impressive 12/13 overall, Anže's standout predictions included Exacts for both of the 2-2 draws in the round. The late goals from Virgil van Dijk and Sean Longstaff in Round 33 were each very beneficial!

Here are the picks that won Anže the Senegal key:

Anže claimed the Senegal key by responding to our email this morning and is delighted to have qualified for the Superbru 48.

He explained that he's usually a very casual player and tries to predict scorelines that others won't, but changed his strategy slightly this week which paid off well!

"That IS a surprise. We just run a small mini-league in addition to our Premier league fantasy and to be honest I don't really put a lot of research or thought into it. Most of my rounds all results are picked within 20 seconds in total :D"

"I usually go with a lot of surprises in my picks, to try and get those matches where other fail and make a difference. This round I actually said enough with surprises, be realistic... and I've hit the lotto! I'd prefer the Eurojackpot, but definitely honoured and a very special moment indeed. Not many times a person gets in a group as exclusive as this."

Whilst we concede that the Eurojackpot would have been more exciting, the Senegal key is surely the next best thing.

Anže went on to say that he'll be going all out in the Superbru 48 league and is pleased to have an additional excuse to watch a lot of football this summer.

"I'll be very happy to watch the world cup with this extra incentive. I will put in some extra research and try my best in this league , that's for sure... Now my mrs has to let me watch all of the WC games, as it is about earning some pocket money for a holiday :))))"

Next available key

There are still plenty of Road to the World Cup keys to be won.

Anže kindly getting back to us so quickly means we've had time to share this news ahead of Round 34 which already starts tomorrow.

In contrast to the extended Round 33, there are only 7 matches to predict so make sure you have some picks saved before Sunderland vs. Nottingham Forest tomorrow!

In Round 34, the New Zealand key (or does Kiwi key sound better?) will be awarded to the top performer across the 7 matches 🇳🇿🔑

With the Kiwi key on the line, it is fitting that Forest are playing in the opening game of the round as when you think New Zealand and Premier League, you do of course think of Forest striker Chris Wood.

Wood is the only active New Zealander in the Premier League so could he score a goal that helps determine the key winner in Round 34? 🇳🇿

Congratulations once again to Anže and good luck to all in this weekend's round!
