Road to the World Cup: Egypt key winner confirmed

An extended Round 26 of the Premier League came to an end last night and as many of you will know, the Egypt key within our Road to the World Cup campaign was up for grabs.

The global top performer in the round was 'Harris' (James Harris from the UK) which means he's the latest confirmed participant in our Superbru 48 cash prize league.

If you haven't yet read the full article explainer, the Superbru 48 will be an exclusive league made up of 48 key holders in this summer's World Cup Predictor. The total prize pot in the Superbru 48 will be at least Β£2,500.

The winning predictions

Harris managed a remarkable 21.5 points in Round 26.

That total of 21.5 was actually tied by one other player, but Harris wins the Egypt key on a tie-break having had 9 out of 11 total correct picks vs. 8 out of 11 for 2nd place.

Here are the picks that won Harris the key, including excellent Exact draw picks for Chelsea 2-2 Leeds, West Ham 1-1 Manchester United and Brentford 1-1 Arsenal.

We spoke to Harris to let him know he'd won the Egypt key which was a pleasant surprise.

He plays in a league with a few mates and said "I knew I scored well this week (for once) but didn't realise it was that well!".

"I am, of course, keen to take part come the summer... although I think a win may be out of the reach of the Egyptian King!

Reminder: Just like Harris has here, key winners will be contacted via email and must confirm their place in the Superbru 48 by responding to us. A couple of winners haven't, meaning after a week or so places will instead be offered to the next highest ranked players or equivalent.

Next available key

All remaining Premier League rounds, with the exception of Round 38, will have a key given to the highest performing player.

The reason there won't be in Round 38 is because focus will instead be given to the overall leaderboard in our Premier League game with the top three players receiving keys at the end of the season. Head to the Road to the World Cup page to view all upcoming key info.

The next round is Round 27 which starts on Saturday, where the highest ranked player will receive the Australia key.

In the same way a Mo Salah assist helped Liverpool pick up the win that Harris predicted to earn the Egypt key, perhaps an Everton win is the way to go this weekend in tribute to iconic former player Tim Cahill? πŸ˜πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Congratulations once again to Harris and good luck to all in pursuit of the Aussie key this weekend!
