Quick guide: new Superbru app

Whether you tried it in the beta a few weeks ago or only saw it when your phone completed an auto-update this past weekend, you're sure to find that the new Superbru app is very different from all our previous apps... and hopefully you'll agree that the changes are good!

The navigation has changed a lot, and might take some getting used to, but we hope you'll find that everything seems more natural and obvious now. To help the transition into the new way of using the app, check out this short video, which shows you how to make picks, follow live games, look at pool results, leaderboards and your performance.

Why did we change it?

The old app was familiar, but based on plenty of feedback and our own honest assessment, getting around the app to find what you wanted was a lot more challenging than was ideal. Much of this was because the app was built to navigate like a website rather than an app, and that was because there was a lot of shared code between the two. The new app is a fresh start with its own code that is totally focused around how you would expect an app to behave.

We've been communicating that change is coming because we're well aware that sudden changes can be unsettling, but not everyone will have seen our articles, in-app features and social media updates. So, if the update came as a surprise, apologies for the shock, but we hope you enjoyed exploring the new features when you opened up the new app.

Temporarily missing: fantasy, banter, head-to-head

We've been working hard on the app but don't have every single Superbru feature completed and integrated. Mostly this is down to timing: we wanted everyone to get to enjoy the new features for Super Rugby, NRL, Six Nations and all the other active predictor tournaments as soon as possible. This meant making some calls on a few complex but important feature that we'd hold back and add as soon as they are ready.

Right now, fantasy, banter, head-to-head, performance, badges and honours are among the features that aren't yet available, but will be added as soon as they're finished. In the meantime, please jump out to our mobile website, which has the same navigation as our old app. Here's how to do this:

• The app will do it for you for some features (like fantasy transfers)
• Or, open the top left menu and tap Superbru Website
• Or, open your phone's internet browser and type in www.superbru.com

We appreciate that this is frustrating if you are used to having these features at your fingertips, but hope you can bear with us.

Found a bug or experiencing a problem?

If you've found something that's not working the way you expect, please get in touch on support@superbru.com. With any new software release, bugs are inevitable, but we're doing our best to resolve them as quickly as we can. We'd really appreciate it if you would come to us directly as your first port of call rather than giving us a bad review in Google Play or the App Store as your first response. If you think Superbru is a 1 star experience in general, you absolutely should give us a poor review, but if you enjoy Superbru and are simply facing a new, specific issue, please give us a chance to resolve it first.
