Premier League: Round 30 Predictions

It's been a long time since we've made some Premier League predictions, but I'm still more than happy to take a look back at Round 29 since I did reasonably well with 6/8 and a total of 14 points.

Since then, we've had an international break and the FA Cup quarter-finals, so it's only now that the Premier League run-in gets underway with 2 rounds in the space of a few days.

For a wider look at each of the run-ins across Europe's top leagues, you can check out this article I did during the international break, but right now it's time to get back to focusing on predictions so here are my thoughts on each match in Gameweek 30 of the Premier League.

Arsenal vs. Fulham

Almost everything points towards an Arsenal win here. The Gunners have had a long rest, will have Bukayo Saka back fit for the first time in a long time, and Fulham arrive off the back of a very disappointing FA Cup exit on Saturday. Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Fulham

Wolves vs. West Ham

This is a more difficult prediction as this game could easily go either way but I'm wondering about going with an away win since Wolves are without Matheus Cunha and might ease up a bit after their vital win over Saints. West Ham have had a couple of good away results under Graham Potter so I'm going to back them to win at Molineux as they did last season. Prediction: Wolves 1-2 West Ham

Nottingham Forest vs. Manchester United

United found a bit of form before the international break but it's tough to go against Forest when their home form has been so solid this season. I'm conscious that United have finally started finding some goals but Forest have been strong defensively and they could easily grind out another 1-0 win here. Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-0 Manchester United

Bournemouth vs. Ipswich Town

Though they're having a strong season overall, Bournemouth really need a win here after some poor recent league form and Sunday's FA Cup exit. They haven't always been great in favourable home games, but Ipswich really are struggling and it's tough to pick the sides in the relegation zone to get anything against anyone else in the league at the moment. Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 Ipswich Town

Brighton vs. Aston Villa

This is a huge match for both teams given how close the fight for the European spots are. I think Brighton are probably slight favourites given their home advantage and recent form, but I feel Villa might manage a point? They have the better attacking bench options to rescue a result if required, in my opinion. Prediction: Brighton 1-1 Aston Villa

Manchester City vs. Leicester City

Leicester's current run of form is pitiful so it's tough to go with anything other than a City win here. The hosts will be without Erling Haaland and clearly aren't themselves this season but they still had enough about them to come through an awkward FA Cup tie at Bournemouth on Sunday and that's a much more difficult game than this. Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 Leicester

Newcastle vs. Brentford

After more than 2 weeks of richly deserved celebration for finally securing a trophy, Newcastle can now solely focus on finishing as high as they can in the Premier League which I think means they're going to be a force during this run-in. Brentford are on an excellent winning run but they're going to be up against quite an atmosphere in this game so I'm playing safe and predicting a win for the hosts. Prediction: Newcastle 3-1 Brentford

Southampton vs. Crystal Palace

Southampton remain almost totally unpickable and Crystal Palace are on a great run away from home so this prediction feels fairly straightforward. One of those where you know that even if you're wrong, almost everyone else is too. Prediction: Southampton 0-2 Crystal Palace

Liverpool vs. Everton

Following their Cup defeats to Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle, I'm sure a few people (particularly Arsenal fans) are getting excited about the potential for a Premier League slip from Liverpool here as well in the Merseyside derby, but I feel the Reds will just be making extra sure that that doesn't happen. The international break should have done them some good and fans will have regained perspective during that period that they're on the verge of something special in the Premier League. Everton's recent form has been very solid but this is obviously a fixture that they struggle with and I'd be surprised if they manage a point at Anfield. Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Everton

Chelsea vs. Tottenham

The general rule is Chelsea don't lose to Tottenham at Stamford Bridge (Spurs' single victory at Chelsea in the Premier League era being the exception that proves the rule), so I'm backing the Blues here, particularly since it sounds like Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson will be back fit. Considering Spurs are 10 points away from even the top half of the table, it's all about the Europa League for Ange Postecoglou during this run-in. Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham
