Predictions: Jack's Round 35 Premier League Picks

This weekend is another big one in the relegation battle and we may well see a Champions League place or two confirmed by Monday too.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have the chance to put real pressure on City in the title race as they play a couple of days earlier than them in this round.

Last round

I did OK with 4/7 and a couple of Exacts for the Spurs and United wins. A small green arrow on the global leaderboard, but like Newcastle I think I've left it too late for a respectable finish.

Road the World Cup update

🇳🇿🔑 The New Zealand key was won by Alex in Round 34. You can read all about that here.

🇨🇴🔑 The Colombia key will be awarded to the top performer in Round 35 as part of our Road to the World Cup campaign.

Here are my thoughts on Round 35!

Leeds vs. Burnley

This is one of very few fixtures in this round that looks fairly straightforward to pick. Leeds have the form and the motivation to win this comfortably, whereas Burnley are just waiting for the season to end with relegation confirmed and Parker gone. Prediction: Leeds 2-0 Burnley

Brentford vs. West Ham

Brentford really need to get back to winning ways but West Ham aren't a team you want to be playing at the moment given their recent performances and sheer desperation for points. I think a draw makes sense. Prediction: Brentford 1-1 West Ham

Newcastle vs. Brighton

Newcastle will surely stop losing at some point and Bruno Guimaraes being back is huge, but Brighton are playing very well at the moment. I was leaning towards a draw in this match as well but the Seagulls have a good record in this fixture. Prediction: Newcastle 1-2 Brighton

Wolves vs. Sunderland

Obviously, I didn't see Sunderland's 0-5 defeat coming last week (precisely 1 Superbru player had that Exact), but I still think they're favourites here given Wolves have stopped scoring goals and that little flurry of results under Rob Edwards has dried up. A fixture that is unlikely to be a classic. Prediction: Wolves 0-1 Sunderland

Arsenal vs. Fulham

This fixture has the potential to be a problem for Arsenal given their schedule, but I don't have much faith in Fulham to really throw them off course given their recent away performances at Liverpool and Brentford. I think Arsenal will win quite comfortably. Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Fulham

Bournemouth vs. Crystal Palace

Bournemouth are the side with more to play for in this one and you can't really argue against their current form streak. Crystal Palace are also going fairly well despite their busy schedule during the Europa Conference League knockout phase but Bournemouth have lost just twice at home all season so I think this is a choice between a home win and a draw. The Cherries have been drawing a lot of their home matches but perhaps they can find a winner in this one. Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 Crystal Palace

Manchester United vs. Liverpool

It's a bit of a shame that this fixture doesn't feel quite as big as it usually does this season because both teams are almost certainly going to qualify for the Champions League, but there is of course always plenty of edge in matches between these two regardless and United would no doubt love to seal their place in next season's UCL by winning this one.

Having seen Leeds win at Old Trafford recently, I think Liverpool players such as Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz should be looking at this game as a real opportunity to really boost their popularity with their supporters by winning this match for them. I think United have the better chance of coming out on top overall, but I reckon this could end up being a fairly uneventful draw. Prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

Aston Villa vs. Tottenham

There should be some good drama in this game, just because there always is with Tottenham this season. This looks like a good time for them to be visiting Aston Villa since Villa have a Europa League semi-final to try and turn around on Thursday, but the hosts will still be keen to win and cement their UCL spot. Injuries continue to be a real problem for Spurs with Xavi Simons now out having just started making a big attacking impact for them. I think we'll see a home win. Prediction: Aston Villa 1-0 Tottenham

Chelsea vs. Nottingham Forest

I'm very torn on this one. Chelsea will be a bit better now based on their FA Cup semi-final after the departure of Liam Rosenior, but Forest are playing really well at the moment and have nothing to fear really considering Chelsea are winless in 5 at home. Obviously the Europa League semi-final falling either side of this match is a factor to consider but Forest still need to go all out for points here and I think they might get one. Prediction: Chelsea 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Everton vs. Manchester City

Finally, this isn't an ideal fixture for City because Everton tend to be tough to beat but Pep Guardiola's record against them is actually really strong and I think they'll come through this. If Rodri is still out, there's slightly more doubt in my mind, but I'm going with an away win. Prediction: Everton 0-2 Manchester City

Good luck to everyone in Round 35!
