Predictions: Jack's Round 23 Premier League Picks
A somewhat strange and certainly unpredictable Premier League season continues - United are suddenly the form team in Manchester, Palace are dropping like a stone rather than challenging for Europe and more silverware, and Wolves might actually be quite good now.
Excitingly, this round is also the first where you could win a key within our new Road to the World Cup campaign π¦π·π
The player that scores the most points in Round 23 of the Premier League Predictor will receive the Argentina key. If you've no idea what I'm talking about, you can read about it here and via a new World Cup dedicated tab on the Superbru Football app.
Get involved, it's going to be good fun for the remainder of the season.
Here are my thoughts on Round 23.

Best of luck with your own Round 23 predictions!

Last round
1/10. One. I think this might be a first for me. In a round full of upsets where the community average was 2/10, the only upset I went for was for Chelsea to fail to win at home. Naturally, they picked up the most expected win of the round. Here are my thoughts on Round 23.

West Ham vs. Sunderland
Sunderland draw a lot of games and I'm wondering if this might be another. West Ham obviously had a great result at Spurs last week but I think that game probably says more about Spurs than it does the Hammers and I'm far from convinced they have what it takes to beat a well organised Sunderland side. Prediction: West Ham 1-1 SunderlandBurnley vs. Tottenham
I think Thomas Frank will probably be sacked if Tottenham don't win this game, and while I wouldn't be at all surprised if Burnley manage a draw, I think Spurs might just nick it to prolong what must be a painful period for Tottenham fans. Dominic Solanke finally being available should help things and we've seen Spurs do slightly better on the road than at home since their style of play will be less scrutinised. Prediction: Burnley 0-1 TottenhamFulham vs. Brighton
A bit of a coin flip, this one, but I'm going with Fulham based on their home record in this fixture. I don't quite trust Brighton enough defensively. Prediction: Fulham 2-1 BrightonManchester City vs. Wolves
I think it's time to start predicting Wolves games based on their last few results rather than their league position because Rob Edwards looks to finally have them playing with pride again, but I'm not ready to pick them to get anything at City. Though he seemed very down last week, Pep Guardiola seemed in a more defiant mood in his press conference today and I think we'll see a response in Marc Guehi's first game for the club. Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 WolvesBournemouth vs. Liverpool
I quite like Bournemouth but similarly to Marseille in midweek, I feel their attacking style of play will suit Liverpool. I'd be surprised if the Reds don't win this despite their recent draws against more defensive teams. Prediction: Bournemouth 1-3 LiverpoolBrentford vs. Nottingham Forest
It feels like there's a few factors in Brentford's favour for this one so I'm going with them. The Bees have been good at home all season and while there seemed to be a better atmosphere at Nottingham Forest last week where they had that decent point vs. Arsenal, more generally things still just seem quite 'meh'. Winning a game like this could change that quite quickly, mind. Prediction: Brentford 2-0 Nottingham ForestCrystal Palace vs. Chelsea
It feels like everything is on fire at Crystal Palace right now and Oliver Glasner doesn't seem particularly interested in fighting the flames. Things can change very quickly in football so you never know but this does appear an opportune time for Chelsea to be going to Selhurst Park and to try and get a first away league win for a while. Prediction: Crystal Palace 0-2 ChelseaNewcastle vs. Aston Villa
It feels like Newcastle have the upper hand here in the sense that they've a more favourable schedule as well as home advantage, but I'll consider changing my pick if Bruno Guimaraes isn't fit because he's been carrying them at times this season. Villa have obviously been the stronger side so far this season but they were in Turkey last night and don't have a great record at St James' Park. Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Aston VillaArsenal vs. Manchester United
I'm going with Arsenal because they're the best side in the league by a distance at the moment and I think they'll just be too streetwise and physical for this United team, but after last week's performance I'm hopeful we'll see United really test the Gunners. If the visitors score first then we could end up with an Arsenal vs. United clash of old which would be fun but I'm not sure I can back Carrick's team for a result. Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Manchester UnitedEverton vs. Leeds
Everton have become a bit of a nightmare to predict in the last few months, whereas you always used to be able to count on them at home. I'm wondering if this might be a draw, particularly now that Jack Grealish is out. If the AFCON winning Senegal duo are back for them then Everton probably are favourites but Leeds have made themselves pretty solid of late. Prediction: Everton 1-1 LeedsBest of luck with your own Round 23 predictions!
