Fantasy Super Rugby: New features for the 2026 season
Super Rugby is back – and so is Fantasy Rugby on Superbru
The new Super Rugby season is upon us, and with it comes another chance for fans to put their rugby knowledge to the test in Super Rugby Fantasy, powered by Superbru.

Whether you’re backing the traditional heavyweights, tracking emerging stars from across the Pacific, or simply trying to outscore your mates, Fantasy Rugby gives you the chance to step into the shoes of a Director of Rugby — selecting a squad, managing your budget and competing in leagues and pools throughout the season.
With a £100m budget, fantasy managers must assemble a 23-man squad, choose a Starting XV each round and make smart transfer decisions as form, injuries and team selections evolve. Points are awarded based on real match performances — from tries and assists to tackles, turnovers and metres gained — meaning every moment on the pitch can impact your fantasy fortunes.
All of the latest Fantasy Rugby features introduced across Superbru are fully available in Super Rugby, making this the most tactical and data-driven version of the game yet.
Based on in-game demand, the price of each player will rise and fall throughout the season, rewarding those of you that find hidden gems early in the season who the increase in popularity as they score well.
Upcoming fixtures are now displayed in a horizontal, side-scrollable list, clearly separated from completed matches. This makes it far easier to assess a player’s upcoming run of games when planning transfers.

Above the list of completed fixtures, you’ll now see a points history bar chart showing a player’s fantasy scores by round. You can scroll back through the season and tap any bar to see a full breakdown of how those points were earned.

Insights View displays each player’s recent form over the last five rounds alongside their fixture rating for the upcoming match, allowing you to quickly identify weak spots, assess captaincy options and spot players with favourable match-ups.
You can create or join private pools, compete on national and global leaderboards, and follow the action across every round of the season.Think you know Super Rugby? Prove it.

Improved player status icons after team announcements
When viewing your team on the Transfers or Starting XV tabs, player availability is now clearer than ever once team line-ups are announced.- If a player isn't named in their team’s matchday squad, they will be marked with a red NP (not playing) icon.
- If a team announcement is still pending, players will display an hourglass icon.
- Starter and bench icons remain in place as before.

NEW: Fixture Ratings and Insights View for Premium users
In the same way that Premium users benefit from Insights in our Predictor games, we’ve brought the same data-driven intelligence into Fantasy Rugby. Using Superbru’s Insights algorithm, each upcoming fixture is given a fixture rating based on how difficult it is expected to be for players to score fantasy points. These ratings consider factors such as opposition strength, form and projected match margins.Fixture ratings are visible:- On player profile pages
- On the transfers list
- Within the new Insights View for your team

Insights View
Once you’ve made your changes and are viewing your team on either the Transfers or Starting XV tabs, Premium users can now toggle between Standard View and the new Insights View.Insights View displays each player’s recent form over the last five rounds alongside their fixture rating for the upcoming match, allowing you to quickly identify weak spots, assess captaincy options and spot players with favourable match-ups.
More benefits with Superbru Premium
In addition to Fantasy Rugby insights, Superbru Premium also includes:- An ad-free experience across all Superbru platforms
- Exclusive match previews for every fixture in Super Rugby, URC, PREM, Six Nations and more — plus football and Formula 1

Yes, on the website. It would level the playing field if people playing on the website had the same access to the features that people using the App have access to. 20 Feb 00:21
