Fantasy Rugby Updates on the Superbru Rugby app

On the Superbru Rugby app, there have been some tweaks to the displays on our fantasy rugby games today. We've made some improvements which are now live across all of our fantasy tournaments.

The updates centre around improving how quickly you can view upcoming fixtures and previous results for each player, while we've also introduced a fixture rating system that is exclusive to Superbru Premium users.

Here's a quick overview of the changes that have been made.

Improvements to player statuses following team announcements

When viewing your team on the Transfers or Starting XV tab, we've always shown whether a player has been named in a starting lineup or on the bench, but we've added a couple of extra icons to make things even clearer.

- If a player isn't named in their team's lineup for the upcoming round, they will now be marked with a red icon displaying 'NP' (not playing).

- If we are still awaiting a team announcement for a player's team, they will now have an hourglass icon.

These changes give greater clarity as to who might yet still be a starter in the round, and who definitely won't be (previously only the Starter and Bench icons existed).

Thank you to those of you that provided feedback on this - the changes should be especially useful for the rare rounds where we don't receive a starting lineup in time for a round deadline.

Upcoming Fixtures and Points History display changes

When viewing a player's profile, their upcoming fixtures are now listed horizontally on a side-scrollable list. Separating them from the list of completed fixtures adds far greater clarity to see what their upcoming run of games is like, particularly if you're a Premium user with fixture ratings available (more on that later).

We've also looked to make a player's form/scoring history easier to digest at a glance. Above the list of previous games that remains in place for those of you that are used to using it, there is now a bar chart displaying a player's points history.

Again, this is side-scrollable so you can go all the way back to Round 1 even in longer tournaments, and if you tap a bar you can view the player's points breakdown for the game in question.

NEW: Fixture Ratings and Insights View introduced for Premium users

In the same way Premium users enjoy Insights in our Predictor games as well as an ad-free experience, we've been keen to bring an upgraded experience into Fantasy Rugby for those of you who kindly support us with a Premium subscription.

We're hopeful that the introduction of fixture ratings does just that. Now, based on the same data-driven algorithm we use to provide Insights in our Predictor games, each team's upcoming fixtures are given a rating based on how hard it is likely to be for their players to score fantasy points.

A breakdown, which is also visible when you tap these fixture ratings in the app, is shown below:

These ratings have been added in various places to assist you when making your squad changes.

It's now far easier to see which players have a favourable upcoming run - such as Bristol's three matches after a tricky trip to Leicester shown below.

While the addition of a rating for each player's next upcoming game on the transfers tab allows you to see who might be a good pick at a glance alongside our existing filters.

Fixture ratings can change as the season goes on based on form and will sometimes be updated following team announcements if the Insights data updates the forecasted winner of a match and/or margin of victory.

Insights View
Once you've made your changes and you're viewing your team on either the Transfers or Starting XV tabs, Premium users can also now view their team on an alternative Insights View if they wish.

Our standard team view on Superbru Rugby is very popular and ideal for screenshotting and sharing so we've been eager to avoid changing that, but using the new toggle above your team, you can very easily flick between Standard View and Insights View which is where you can find fixture ratings and recent form for all of your players at a glance.

As shown in the example PREM lineup screenshot below, Insights view provides an indication of how each player has performed in the last 5 rounds as well as their fixture rating for the upcoming round.

This allows you to identify potential weak spots in your team very quickly and can assist with decisions such as whom to make captain.

In addition to these new features, other Premium benefits include:
  • An ad-free experience across all Superbru platforms
  • Unique match previews for every single fixture in our Predictor games for the Six Nations, PREM, URC, Super Rugby, and in other sports such as the Premier League and Champions League in football and Formula 1.

We hope you find these updates useful. We hope to make further improvements in time for the 2026-27 Northern Hemisphere season, including the addition of fixture ratings to our website (all of the above changes are on Superbru Rugby only).
