World Cup Warm-Ups: Round 2 Predictions
My picks went reasonably well last week, yielding a couple of yellow caps, but I’m kicking myself for underestimating Wales and South Africa again.
If you aren't already aware, in addition to making your picks for this weekend's matches, we now have our World Cup Knockout Challenge live where you can forecast how the RWC will play out this year which is good fun. Georgia v Romania
Georgia have won the last 6 in a row against Romania, home and away, and on the basis that Romania were well-beaten by the USA last week, this should be a comfortable home win. Georgia by 9England v Wales
Both sides have made plenty of changes for the return fixture this weekend, and on the basis that an England defeat at Twickenham would leave their confidence at rock bottom, the stakes are higher for the home side. Improvement at the lineout and fewer basic handling errors would be a start, and that might be enough in this contest between two outsiders for the World Cup. England by 7France v Scotland
I’m expecting another reversal of last week’s result here too, with France to get their revenge on the Scots rather than risking an uprising in front of their own fans. France by 8Portugal v USA
USA missed out on qualification for the World Cup at the hands of Portugal after a 16-16 draw was enough to see the Portuguese through. Having already had a match together last weekend and with a grudge to bear, I suspect this could be a USA win. USA by 4Chile v Namibia
I’m not too confident on this one to be honest. If I were Chile, I’d be playing my strongest team before making my Rugby World Cup debut. Chile by 6Tonga v Canada
These teams actually played yesterday, a midweek game that wasn’t included on Superbru. Tonga won fairly comfortably, so I would expect a similar result. Tonga by 13How do your predictions compare? Play our World Cup Warm-Ups Predictor here:
