World Cup 2023: Day 11 Preview
Yesterday's RWC match was far from a classic, but Argentina did what they needed to do which was put points on the board in Pool D with a victory over Samoa.
Today, we're back to a more packed schedule, as there are 3 matches taking place. They should each be rather interesting too...
โ Result predicted by 84% of Superbru players
๐ฏ Exact margin predicted by 4% of Superbru players
This ended up being a fairly messy affair with a number of errors made by both teams but Emiliano Boffelli helped his nation to an important win, scoring 16 of Argentina's 19 points. No bonus point means Argentina remain a point behind Samoa and Japan in Pool D, but their remaining fixtures against Japan and Chile are favourable.
โฐ Kick-off at 14:00 local time
๐ Stadium de Toulouse
This should be a very entertaining game to begin the day in Pool C as these two teams will each see this match as their best opportunity to register a win. Both Georgia and Portugal lost their opening matches by 20 points to Australia and Wales respectively, and though Georgia are considered fairly strong favourites here, an upset definitely isn't out of the question.

โฐ Kick-off at 17:45 local time
๐ Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Lille
An upset is less likely here, with almost the entire Superbru community backing England. Steve Borthwick's side have managed 2 wins from 2 against Argentina and Japan and have now taken the opportunity to rotate their team and field what looks to be a fairly attacking lineup, so it will be interesting to see if England can put more points on the board having struggled in attack so far, or whether Chile can surprise a few and keep things competitive.
๐ฟ๐ฆ South Africa vs. Ireland โ๏ธ
โฐ Kick-off at 21:00 local time
๐ Stade de France, Saint-Denis
Finally, the big one. The top two ranked teams in the world meet in Saint-Denis and in addition to top spot in Pool B being at stake, Ireland are also defending their world number 1 status as the Springboks will replace them at the top of the rankings should they win here.
Much has been made of South Africa's decision to select a 7-1 split, and the bookies have the Boks as narrow favourites, but this feels like a real coin flip of a pick so it will be fascinating to see how things play out.
There'll no doubt be plenty of nerves from both sets of fans ahead of this one so feel free to share your thoughts on the game in the comments, but good luck with your predictions and we hope the match lives up to expectations!
