URC: Semi-Final Predictions

We’ve reached the Semi-final stage of this year’s URC, and there are two exciting clashes to look forward to this weekend.

Here are my United Rugby Championship predictions for the quarter-finals this weekend.

I think the Munster pick is relatively safe, backing the home team that finished at the top of the table, but the other game is harder to call.

This has the potential to be a great ‘European’ rivalry over the coming years, with two heavyweights of the game going head-to-head. The Bulls edged the semi-final in Dublin two years ago, and I’m backing Leinster to get their revenge - they are in danger of finishing another season without a trophy, and there may also be an edge from the Irish World Cup failure, which I think will spur them on.

Leinster to beat the Bulls by more than 7 (I know losing bonus points don\'t count for the knock out stages but it would be awesome to see the Bulls getting beaten by more than just a penalty or converted try). Munster also to advance to the final and will face Leinster.

I'm backing the Bulls on this one with a narrow win over Leinster. Leinster lost their last few games away from their home against the stormers, lions and ulster. Looks like SA weather is a bit tough on them lol!

Leinster only lost because they sent their B team to SA. Leinster were keeping their A team for the Champions Cup play offs. So Leinster will be a different team tomorrow. Just because the Bulls beat them back then, doesn\'t mean the same will happen again. 14 Jun 10:30

@FDL. I know that I should probably support the Bulls or any other team that plays against a team not from SA. The reason I don\'t is because they (especially the Bulls and Stormers) are arrogant when they win and they expect to win and when they don\'t win eg because of a card (yellow or red) they say it\'s because it was 14 against 15. That\'s where I draw a line and will support the visitors. EVERY player in EVERY team knows if they do a dangerous tackle they will be penalized. Against a very k@k Scots ref and a TMO that has a reputation for "missing" penalties against all SA teams the Bulls have managed to beat Ireland and not just Leinster.

Just something that I noticed in the Bulls game and I\'m not trying to start an argument here, Leinster seemed quite comfortable with the altitude. It didn\'t seem to affect them... They weren\'t out of breath unless it was because it was a later game and not as hot as it is in summer....
