URC: Semi-Final Predictions!

The two away wins were a shock last week, which leaves us with 3 Irish teams and 1 South African side in the semi finals.

Connacht did the Stormers a huge favour by beating Ulster, handing the Capetonians home advantage in the semis, and an excellent chance of reaching a second consecutive final.

Here are my URC predictions for the semi-finals this weekend.

Stormers v Connacht

Can Connacht make it two huge upsets in a row? They’ve had a great run towards the end of the season and won’t be underestimated, but I think their season will end here. The defending champions have only lost once at home all season, and with the stakes this high, I’m backing them to reach the final once again. Stormers by 8

Leinster v Munster

Leinster have looked unstoppable all season, but perhaps it’s their old rivals Munster that will knock them out in the semi-finals? However, Leinster have had the upper hand in nearly all of the recent meeting between these teams, and having fallen at this stage last year, they'll be desperate not to make the same mistake. Leinster by 13

Logical picks but for those who are not well placed on the leaderboards and trying to win their pools, great upset picks are possible. For me, I'm going with Hutch.

I would like to think both away teams will win, but despite a great run-in for Connacht I also think DHL might be too much. Munster have had some good outings down the stretch, but they had a lot of injuries against Glasgow and I wonder about what side will be out there. And it is against Leinster who won't be resting anyone.
