URC: Round 7 Predictions

This is the last round of URC picks for this first batch of matches before the tournament takes a break for the November Internationals.

Win the Yellow Cap this week and you’ll hold it for a month! Here are my URC predictions for Round 7.

Glasgow v Benetton

This looks straightforward enough, with two teams that much prefer playing at their own ground. Glasgow by 9

Scarlets v Leinster

I can’t see Leinster losing their unbeaten run here, given the Scarlets’ form so far, but it’s worth checking team news or the Superbru Insights info. Leinster by 13

Lions v Stormers

The Lions have had a week off, whilst the Stormers have been travelling Europe and losing to Cardiff, so I’m backing a home win here. Lions by 4

Dragons v Zebre

What a showdown this could be, but sadly for Zebre, the Dragons are leaving them behind at the bottom of the table this year. Dragons by 16

Munster v Ulster

This one actually is a great showdown. It’s a tough pick, but with Ulster’s illness and Munster at Thomond Park, I’m backing a home win. Munster by 2

Ospreys v Connacht

Ospreys haven’t been great so far, but Connacht’s away form has me leaning towards a home win here. Ospreys by 4

Bulls v Sharks

It’s usually worth backing the Bulls at home, but the Sharks know what it takes to win there, and have had a much kinder schedule over the last couple of weeks. Sharks by 4

Cardiff v Edinburgh

Home advantage is usually important in this fixture, and the Welsh have picked up a couple of big scalps at the Arms Park already this season. Cardiff by 6
