URC: Round 4 Predictions

The GSP continues to elude me, and there are some more tricky picks to contend with this weekend, which I think is a sign of a good, competitive tournament.

Here are my URC predictions for Round 4.

Connacht v Munster

Back at home for the first time this season, I’m tempted to pick Connacht, and I’ll wait for team news, but I’m leaning towards Munster for now. Munster by 2

Edinburgh v Lions

This should be a home win for Edinburgh, even though the Lions will be feeling more confident after two wins in Wales. Edinburgh by 6

Zebre v Stormers

It’s a familiar-looking streak for the Zebre, but it doesn’t quite tell the whole story because they are looking much more competitive. Stormers should still win though. Stormers by 13

Leinster v Sharks

This could become one of the great fixtures of the competition, but the Sharks won’t be at full-strength for this one and Leinster should win. Leinster by 18

Scarlets v Cardiff

This should be the first win of the season for the Scarlets, but we need to keep an eye on Cardiff who have somehow beaten Munster and lost to the Lions already this season. Scarlets by 9

Glasgow v Bulls

I think most people will pick the Bulls here, but it’s their first match outside South Africa and Glasgow very rarely lose at Scotstoun. Glasgow by 4

Ulster v Ospreys

It was a good win at home for the Ospreys last week, but Ulster will be too good for them in Belfast. Ulster by 13

Benetton v Dragons

The Italians should hold on to their position inside the top 6 with another home win against the Dragons, even though their visitors have also looked more competitive in the last couple of weeks. Benetton by 9

Don't write the Sharks off. The Sharks have the talent and ability to cause an upset.
