URC: Round 2 Predictions

Last week’s 4 out of 7 wasn’t the perfect start I was looking for, but this weekend looks like a GSP for me.

Here are my URC predictions for Round 2.

Zebre v Sharks

Perhaps I should be giving the Zebre a little more respect after they acquitted themselves reasonably against Leinster this weekend, but I won’t be picking them to win just yet. Sharks by 16

Glasgow v Cardiff

I didn’t expect the Welsh to win last weekend, but that was largely thanks to Munster’s understrength team. Glasgow lost to Benetton, but should be a different proposition back at home. Glasgow by 8

Leinster v Benetton

Benetton are just above Leinster on the URC league table, but a home win will be on the cards here, but it might be closer than some people expect. Leinster by 21

Scarlets v Ulster

This is a slightly tricky one, given that the Scarlets are usually tough to beat at home, but Ulster look like they might be title contenders this year and if that’s the case, they need to be winning these sorts of games. Ulster by 6

Bulls v Edinburgh

The Scots might be top of the log after a big win over the Dragons last week, but a visit to Loftus is a different proposition and this should be a comfortable home win. Bulls by 13

Stormers v Connacht

The Champions are in action for the first time, with a kind fixture against Connacht, whose away form is generally poor. It’s in Stellenbosch, but we’ll still call it a home win. Stormers by 16

Ospreys v Lions

The Lions are another team whose away form is poor, and the Ospreys will be buoyed after a draw at the Scarlets in Round 1. Ospreys by 13

Dragons v Munster

Surely Munster can’t lose in Wales two weeks running? I’ll await team news before locking my margin pick, but I’m predicting a Munster win whatever happens. Munster by 16
