URC: Round 14 Predictions

Whilst the Six Nations takes a break for a week, we return to a full set of URC fixtures, made harder to predict with the absence of most international players.

Here are my URC predictions for Round 14.

Glasgow v Ulster

The home side have been in great form over the last few weeks, but they’ll be heavily-affected by the absence of their Scottish players, whilst Ulster are able to name a stronger team. Ulster by 4

Munster v Ospreys

I can’t see the Ospreys coming away with anything from Thomond Park, with Munster continuing their rise up the table. Munster by 16

Lions v Sharks

This is potentially a tricky one, but the Sharks have had the edge in recent clashes between these teams, and they know each other so well that home advantage is diminished. Sharks by 4

Bulls v Stormers

The Capetonians were impressive in their demolition of the Sharks in their most recent outing, and they’ve won 4 in a row against the Bulls, but instinct has me siding with the home team here. Bulls by 2

Zebre v Connacht

The Zebre’s first win of the season appears to be getting closer, but it still takes a braver person than me to back them for the win. Connacht by 7

Cardiff v Benetton

For all their success at home, Benetton still haven’t won outside Italy, and this should be a home win. Cardiff by 8

Scarlets v Edinburgh

One win in their last 6 isn’t the sort of form that suggests Edinburgh can win in Llanelli without their frontline international players, so I’m backing the Scarlets. Scarlets by 6

Leinster v Dragons

This one looks fairly straightforward, where an understrength Leinster team should comfortably beat the Dragons. Leinster by 19

Round 14 also includes two rearranged fixtures next weekend - Sharks v Ulster and Lions v Glasgow. On Superbru, this means it's a double fixture round for the Sharks, Ulster, Lions and Glasgow, so players from those teams have two opportunities to score points in our fantasy game.

14,079 caps
I only differ with the First pick as Scotland just released six players to Glasgow for this weekends game, Glasgow by 2
