A sea of green arrows welcomed me back to the Rugby Championship Predictor today, after Quade Cooper’s heroics to deliver a Wallabies win last weekend. Can they do it again?
Here are my Rugby Championship predictions for Round 5.
Australia v South Africa
That defeat to the Wallabies will have stung last weekend, and I think the Springboks will learn more in defeat than they might have done had Cooper missed that kick at the end. Any complacency will have been wiped away, Handre Pollard is unlikely to be so profligate from the tee, and if Rassie makes another video, more of the referee decisions should go the Boks’ way.
Prediction: South Africa by 6Argentina v New Zealand
The Pumas have a chance here, because the All Blacks have picked a second-string team. Usually they can make several changes without it really affecting the overall quality, but most of the first-choice side are being rested for the Springbok match, and it does look decidedly second-string. Unfortunately for Argentina, who have selected a winger to play fly-half, it will still be enough to beat them easily.
Prediction: New Zealand by 21
Good call last week????Thanx Hutch
There are NO Second String AB's, they are all as devastating as each other.
There are even players who Do Not make it to the AB Pack who are just as good!
They get brassed off and go to play in Japan and Europe and show their Wares. 21 Sep 07:41
