Superbru 6: Premiership and URC return following November break

We’re back to club rugby action this weekend as the URC and Premiership Rugby return.

Here are my Superbru 6 predictions for this weekend.

Friday

Ulster v Leinster - United Rugby Championship
This is a huge Irish derby, but with Ireland taking on Australia outside the international window, many of the internationals will be unavailable. I suspect that might just tip the balance in Ulster’s favour, and they have won two of the last three against the Dublin side. Prediction: Ulster by 2

Harlequins v Bristol - Gallagher Premiership
These two teams have a history of high-scoring games, and it makes it difficult to predict. Quins have looked fairly strong at home, but Bristol are unbeaten away from home this season. If Marcus Smith starts, I’m predicting a home win. Prediction: Harlequins by 4

Saturday

Sharks v Stormers - United Rugby Championship
The Sharks enjoyed two good home wins before the international break, whilst the Stormers lost to Glasgow and currently sit 13th in the table. The Sharks have named a very strong team featuring their returning Springboks, and so I’m predicting a home win here. Prediction: Sharks by 7

Connacht v Bulls - United Rugby Championship
This is a tough pick, with Connacht generally tough to beat at their home ground, and the Bulls less formidable away from home. However, with Bundee Aki and one or two others still away with Ireland, I’m going with the crowd and backing the Bulls. Prediction: Bulls by 2

Munster v Lions - United Rugby Championship
I’m not going with the crowd for this one, who seem to be siding with the Lions. I think Munster will win relatively comfortable, even without their Ireland players, and I can’t see Lions even getting close to a win at Thomond Park. Prediction: Munster by 13

Sunday

Sale v Leicester - Gallagher Premiership
The Tigers were the form side in the league before the international break with four wins in a row, but this is a tough trip to Sale. Again, I’ll check on team news to see if the likes of Handre Pollard and Freddie Steward will be involved, as well as the Curry brothers for Sale, but I’m leaning towards a Tigers win. Prediction: Tigers by 2

How do you see the weekend’s matches unfolding? Which picks do you disagree with here?

Sharks straight into it!!
28 Nov 14:23
38,072 caps
SALE! 28 Nov 15:03
6,056 caps
I\'m going with Sharks by 13. Connacht to win by 15. All the rest seem straight forward to me. There\'s bound to be a couple of upsets I\'m sure.
28 Nov 16:59
38,072 caps
2 for Sale Sharks then. 28 Nov 18:11
1,986 cap
Connacht by 15 ??? 29 Nov 07:22
1,986 cap
Larry did you see who they are playing against? LoL

Can't see a margin that big, but who know. Let's see 29 Nov 07:23
6,056 caps
I do know that they are playing against the Stormers. Stormers are coming back after 2 consecutive LOSSES whereas the Sharks are coming back after 2 consecutive WINS. Have you seen the Sharks line up?? Again, anything is possible.... 29 Nov 10:55
I think Werner means Connacht to beat Bulls by 15?
29 Nov 11:52
Mind you - I've just checked - the last time they played in Galway it looked like this

01/10/2021

Connacht 34 Bulls 7

29 Nov 11:57
6,056 caps
Exactly. So I think Connacht will want to do a double on the Bulls. 29 Nov 12:02
10,213 caps
I would like to agree but unfortunately as Connacht are without their Internationals in tight head (Finley Bealham) centre (Bundie Aki) and winger (Matt Hansen) they may struggle to win even with home advantage 29 Nov 17:36
6,056 caps
Perhaps. I\'m really hoping for a home win. Bulls also don\'t travel well so there\'s pros and cons for both teams I guess... 29 Nov 19:15
142 caps
Larry, do you maybe know what the weather is like in Con now? Cause that also make a diffs for the bulls.. 30 Nov 12:54
2,004 caps
Bulls success
2 Dec 15:54
Do you think they can beat Saracens in the Champions Cup first round? 2 Dec 21:20
10,213 caps
Saracens had a unexpected loss to Newcastle Last week so maybe their resting players for a big effort on Saturday
