Superbru 6: Ireland v All Blacks leads international rugby weekend

We have a full card of International Rugby to look forward to this weekend, with all the big nations in action.

Here are my Superbru 6 predictions for this weekend.

Friday

Ireland vs. New Zealand - Rugby Internationals
I think New Zealand will benefit from having played twice in the last two weeks, whilst Ireland have not been together since July. It makes me slightly hesitant to pick a home win here, but Ireland will benefit from being able to study the tapes of the All Blacks’ performances. It should be a great contest and the number one side in the world may just have the edge. Prediction: Ireland by 4

Saturday

England vs. Australia - Rugby Internationals
I’m looking forward to seeing Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii in action for the Wallabies, but it feels slightly desperate to fast-track him into the starting lineup. Perhaps he’ll make the difference, and Australia’s performances in the Rugby Championship suggest they needed to change something.

England were not clinical enough to beat the All Blacks last weekend, but they’ll be better for that experience and this should be a more comfortable outing at Twickenham. Prediction: England by 9

Italy vs. Argentina - Rugby Internationals
The Pumas have had one of their most successful seasons, having defeated the All Blacks, Australia and South Africa during the recent Rugby Championship. Their record against the Azzurri is also very strong, and it’s hard to look past an Argentina win here. Prediction: Argentina by 13

France vs. Japan - Rugby Internationals
This pick is all about the margin, with the hosts clear favourites for the win. France are unlikely to be at their best in their opening match of the series, particularly given the gruelling Top 14 schedule for the players, but they should still have plenty to beat Japan here. Prediction: France by 23

Sunday

Wales vs. Fiji - Rugby Internationals
These two teams have had some great fixtures over the years, but Wales have had the upper hand since they were humiliated at the 2007 World Cup. Fiji should be stronger than they were last weekend, but I’d still expect the Welsh to beat them. Prediction: Wales by 13

Scotland vs. South Africa - Rugby Internationals
And finally on Sunday, the Springboks head to Murrayfield for what is a tricky opening fixture in their November series. The Scots had a rampant win over Fiji last weekend, which will give them some confidence in their attacking game, but can they live with the Springbok power? Not many teams can, and it’s hard to pick against the World Champions, but they might not have it all their own way. Prediction: South Africa by 7

Are there any you disagree with here? Will there be any upsets?

Agree with everything besides 1 notable game. A. They are not no. 1 in the world. They can't get beyond a world cup quarter final. 2. Studying the tapes won't you help to stop Mark Telea appearing on the other side of the try line! 3. They have not played together yet this year. All Blacks have and they will be beater. So All Blacks by 7.

Ireland are top of the rugby rankings if you looked. South Africa are world champions congrats but the facts are there mate. 8 Nov 10:12

HaHaHaHa....... Lekker our Southern Hemisphere Brothers........ Ireland 3rd. RSA 1, ABs 2, Ire 3 9 Nov 10:07

Guys forget that Ireland is basically the Leinster URC team and they've been playing together for 6 weeks. Besides who would you pick to coach your team: Robertson or Farrel?
8 Nov 10:44
Yes 10 in the starting line up from Leinster! Both great coaches. 8 Nov 11:10
6,056 caps
As much as I would like the Springboks to win, I see this being one of the games that has an upset score. I have still gone with SA to win, but I am considering changing my pics to the Scots by 3. I also see NZ beating the Irish by a solid margin 8 Nov 13:06
6,056 caps
*picks not pics. Typo lol 8 Nov 13:07
I think SA to win it, but I like the NZ prediction. Do you know everyone how many South Africans/ Australians/ New Zealanders are playing for the Northern Hemisphere this weekend. I'll tell you - 12! Ireland have the highest with 5 players ( Bundee Aki, James Lowe and Jamison Gibson Park all from the Chiefs), Bealham and Hansen are Australians. Scotland as is typical have 2 South Africans ( Schoeman and Duhan) and also 2 Australians ( Dempsey and Tuipulotu) and Wales, with their selection of 3 New Zealanders ( Anscombe, Plumtree and Blair Murray) have joined the party. 12 out of 45 starters for these teams ( more than 25%) are NZ, SA or Australian. So even if they win, who actually won! It's becoming like football you can just make up your own team! Murray has only played a game and a half for Scarlets he is right into Welsh internationals! Love it! 8 Nov 13:24
*Gibson Park from Blues/ Hurricanes not Chiefs. But is NZ 8 Nov 13:29
2,004 caps
SA will win 8 Nov 13:37
Should do! 8 Nov 13:44
SA with 2 sets of forwards; one each half! 8 Nov 14:22
6,056 caps
Scotland also have Dylan Richardson in their Team. He\'s eligible to play there because his father/grandfather was born there and also because he gets over-looked by the SA selectors. 9 Nov 04:09
1,986 cap
Scotland have more South Africans -- P.Schoeman, D.van der Merwe, K.Steyn that is injured and D.Richardson on the bench....
P.Willemse also playing for France.
Sooo many South Africans all over...

Still South Africa will win and the All Blacks will win (or did win :) and the rankings changed.... RSA 1, ABs 2, Ire 3 9 Nov 10:11
88,446 caps
I might just pick all the 6 nations teams......Argentina match my kopseer.
8 Nov 14:54
1,986 cap
You really believe that Scotland will cope with South Africas monsterous pack and bench?

Also really happy that All Blacks won.

I believe Argentina will win.

Australia the only Southern side I think will lose 9 Nov 10:13
Not even that - Australia winning too! The Lions tour to Australia can go ahead now ! :-) 11 Nov 12:49
Scott Gibbs on SA Rugby last week was telling people to save their money, miss the Lions Tour and rather go to the World Cup down under in 2027 - so confident was he and a lot of people that the Lions Tour will be the biggest walk-over in history - Jo Schmidt is turning them around. That new centre is class. 11 Nov 12:51
Now that match will be a classic! Have you seen the line-ups. Easily the best game of the weekend Italy V Argentina in Italy!
8 Nov 15:19
41,205 caps
Pretty much what ive gone with although secretly hoping the Taffs get mauled by the Fijians :)
