Super Rugby: Team of Round Sixteen
After a tricky Round 15 weekend that saw the average Super Rugby fantasy bru score just 126.4 points, Round 16 proved to be far more generous as that average shot up to 181.6. Numerous high scoring games was the main reason for this, as well as the R16 ideal captain and kicker being very popular picks in Kwagga Smith and Beauden Barrett.
We had plenty of you very nearly pass the 300 mark in this weekend's round. Mikel Palomero from Spain and Quinton Lottering from South Africa were the top brus who managed 299.5 points! You can check out their teams a little further down this article but first, here is the TOTR:

Most represented teams in this week's TOTR: Lions (3 players), Brumbies, Crusaders, Hurricanes and Jaguares (2 players).
As you can see, Solomon Alaimalo was the highest scoring Outside Back this weekend and we certainly have to say a massive congratulations to the Chiefs as a whole on an incredible win over the Crusaders! Just 4% of players in our predictor game were backing the Chiefs after what's been a tough season for them so far but Alaimalo was one of six try scorers in a 40-27 victory.
Another player to stand out in this TOTR's backline is Santiago Carreras who played on the wing for the Jaguares but is a centre in our game. Carreras managed a brace in only his third start of the season and the Jaguares have two favourable home games coming up against the Sharks and the Sunwolves to end their regular season.
As for the forwards, Kwagga Smith continues to be a must-pick as one of your Loose Forwards after again taking a TOTR captaincy but Connal McInerney deserves just as much of a mention. McInerney is not the most sensible pick given Faingaa's role as the Brumbies' first-choice hooker but after coming on for the second half against the Sunwolves, he scored a hat-trick! Perhaps one of the most surprising TOTR inclusions of the season?
That TOTR would have scored you 360 points but if we're being more realistic about the potential score you could have managed in this round, it's better to have a look at the Yellow Cap winning brus. As mentioned earlier, Mikel Palomero and Quinton Lottering both scored 299.5 points in this round. Here's a look at each of their teams which despite many similarities do have some interesting differences!

In our daily Super Rugby fantasy game - a different kind of test as you select five players you believe will perform best on each day of the Super Rugby season from lists we provide - the best possible selections were as follows:
Friday: Snyman, Liebenberg, Genia, Beale, Foley (88 points)
Saturday: Marx, Smith, Laumape, Alaimalo, Barrett (137 points)
Good luck to all in Round 17 where the Highlanders will kick things off against the Bulls in Dunedin.
