Super Rugby Pacific: Round 6 Predictions

We have a full card of 6 fixtures to pick this weekend, plus a rescheduled match on Tuesday, and there are a few tricky ones that will no doubt trip some of us up.

Here are my Super Rugby predictions for Round 6 this weekend.

Moana Pasifika v Hurricanes

A straightforward one to start with, given the Pasifika’s drubbing at the hands of the Chiefs last weekend. The Hurricanes had a rest meanwhile, and should win comfortably. Hurricanes by 28

Rebels v Fijian Drua

This is a really tough one, with the Rebels still without a win, up against the Drua, whose only win was against the Rebels in Round 3. The home side is slight favourites, but I’m going with the Drua, on the basis that their trajectory is more positive. Drua by 2

Force v Brumbies

The Force were lucky to sneak past the Drua last weekend, and I can’t see them beating the Brumbies here. Brumbies by 9

Highlanders v Blues

The Highlanders are struggling so far this season, and the Blues look a better team on paper. Blues by 6

Chiefs v Crusaders

Instinct is always to pick the Crusaders, but they haven’t been at their best this year and there are a few players missing. The Superbru Insights data is worth looking at, and I’m picking a home win. Chiefs by 2

Reds v Waratahs

The Tahs have been much better than last year, but they’ve also enjoyed 4 home games out of 5, and this is a tough trip to the Reds. Reds by 9

Moana Pasifika v Blues

I won’t lock my pick for this match on Tuesday just yet - I’ll be picking the Blues, but will wait to see team news before settling on the margin. For now though... Blues by 28

How is the fantasy going to work for this round Hutch. Will there be double points awarded or will one match points not be counted??????

Your players will score points for every match they play in, and Moana Pasifika and the Blues are playing twice in this round. The games are in quick succession though, so there is likely to be some team rotation for that match on Tuesday, so you can choose how much risk to take on! 24 Mar 11:05

Hello Hutch, I have 3 non-starters in my second Moana Pasifika game tuesday,.29th.
I have been given points for Blackwell (non-starter) from my Bench player. Retallik.
Will I be awarded the Bench Points for my 3 non-starters, Fomai, Aumua and Funaki.
tonight, if not, why not? Cheers!

Hi Marj, you've already earned points for all 15 players in your lineup including points for Fomai, Aumua and Funaki from Moana Pasifika's first match in round 6. If you were to get points for benched players in your squad for Moana Pasifika's second match in round 6 you'd effectively be earning points from 18 players rather than 15 players.

If Fomai, Aumua and Funaki had played in the second match you would have received points for their match performances in that match as well. But as they didn't play in the second match, you can't receive additional points from other players over and above what you have already received.

I hope that makes sense. 29 Mar 10:25

Thanks Hutch, Yep. makes sense. I will know for next time.
My picks were not made for that reason, otherwise I would have left McClutchy in my team, what an exciting talent, this comp is looking good!
Cheers and All the Best! 29 Mar 12:41

Oh no JP
Bet you are not happy
Mark Telea is the only Blues player to play in both games.
Guess you should have stuck with yr instinct and mafe him captain instead of Clark 28 Mar 03:47

Its BECAUSE I didn't pick him that he played twice. it seems my Rugby Captains either get dropped, carded or injured. Its cost me hundreds so far in 2022. I think Leon MacDonald plays Superbru (SaderTraitor). 29 Mar 18:26

LOL! That is so Funny, (Sader Traitors) They are like a rash , they are in every team coaching. Gotta say I do like the Red's progress, getting better every game. 31 Mar 14:44

On Facebook you published an article "Six Nations Fantasy Team of the Tournament" You should either rectify that or remove it as it's totally wrong. Something seriously wrong with that Irish calculator.

The final score for Moana Pasific vs Hurricanes is wrong. 24-19. Wow Hurricanes, way to drop the ball on that one.... Congrats MP with a big win, in only your first season....
