Super Rugby Pacific: Round 10 Predictions

This weekend sees the first Trans-Tasman matches, all taking place in Melbourne - will we see a clean sweep of New Zealand wins?

Here are my Super Rugby predictions for Round 10.

Chiefs v Waratahs

This looks a straightforward pick to start with, and I think it will be fairly one-sided. Chiefs by 23

Blues v Fijian Drua

This is likely to be even more one-sided, with the Blues on a high after beating the Crusaders last weekend. Blues by 38

Hurricanes v Reds

The Canes only just edged past the Highlanders last weekend, whilst the Reds have been the best Aussie side in recent weeks. Another Kiwi win is the sensible pick I think. Hurricanes by 9

Highlanders v Brumbies

Nearly all red on the Highlanders’ streak, and nearly all green on the Brumbies’ side, and it is being played in Australia, but I’m still predicting a Highlanders win, and it’s a key fixture for measuring how close the Aussies are to their New Zealand counterparts. Highlanders by 4

Crusaders v Rebels

A defeat for the Crusaders last week, but this should be a much easier outing, even with home advantage for the opposition. These teams are worlds apart on paper. Crusaders by 26

Don't know about the Landers, think Brumbies might be a bit too strong for them,,,,but hey,who knows.

The travel for the NZ sides, the neutral venue and the question marks on how far the gulf is between the NZ and Australian sides make the margins quite tough to pick this week.

Highlanders team especially the backline looks very experimental. Hopefully this comes off.
