Super Rugby Pacific 2024: Semi-Final Predictions

It’s semi-final time in Super Rugby, and another two home wins are probably on the cards. Or are they?

Here are my Super Rugby predictions for this weekend:

I think the Blues will be fairly comfortable winners in the first semi-final, and then I’ve gone for an upset in the second one.

The hosts are slight favourites with the bookies, but it feels like it could go either way, and if anyone can conjure a victory out of nowhere and give me a boost up my leaderboards, it’s Damian McKenzie.

I recon Blue and Canes in the final with the Canes crowned Champs with the home advantage, but probably just. That final would be evenly matched even with home advantage

Chiefs had the toughest opponents last round yet put on the best display of the 8. Whereas the Hurricanes struggled a bit first half vs the lowly Rebels. Will current form trump home advantage? Check the weather too. If its a ‘double clothes peg’ washing day kicking could be very tricky. J-P Wellington resident 1973-80.

TOP GUN, the Chiefs are not Highlanders and don't wear kilts. In fact, as they are from the home of the Maori King they are honourably permitted to wear no pants so as to moon at royalty visiting from England. 16 Jun 09:28

Congratulations Hutch. I was blinded by the season-long dominance of the Hurricanes (until the Blues got over their slow start) and completely forgot about the history of the Chiefs and Waikato in providing major upsets in competitions such as this and the Ranfurly Shield and the National Provincial competitions. Now I have to shift a hell of a lot of yellow jerseys out of my fantasy team.
