Super Rugby Pacific 2024: Round 6 Predictions

This weekend looks relatively straightforward for Superbru picks with perhaps one or two trickier ones.

Here are my Super Rugby predictions for Round 6:

I’ve picked the Chiefs to edge the Crusaders, but I’m not totally confident in that given the team selection by the away side.

In the big Aussie derby, I’m backing the Brumbies to beat the Reds, mostly based on what I’ve seen from them so far this season as well as their recent record in the head to head.

How do these compare to your own picks?

Nice selections Hutch. Can you add a line about who to pick as our fantasy rugby flyhalf this week ? Always enjoy seeing your predictions and the assessment for them!

Lolesio, if you have to believe Hutch\'s confidence in the Brumbies 28 Mar 13:24

I'm going with the reds, they much better than whatever the hell they tried last weekend. Now they home and going to be hard to beat.

Im going for the Reds as well. Beating Tahs and the Chiefs at Home soil i think the brumbies will struggle a bit

I like this Reds Team. James O’Connor was a bit presumptuous with the comments he made in the week prior to the Force Game about a “Reds- heavy Wallabies” . Should have just let them keep on rolling! He hasn’t even played for them this year but he got all outspoken!

Hopefully the Force game was just a blip. I think Willy old Nic White is going to be the downfall of a lot of teams this year. He knows how to plot against them! They nearly beat the Brumbies too. Great player and leader!

Nic 'Wing Commander' White with THAT tache! That Reds v Bumbies game has me in a right state with my Fantasy XV. Might even make a 5th transfer costing 6 points to replace Flook, many better options at Centre. The kicker choices point to Lolesio but only if Brumbies & Reds both play like last week. If only Perofeta was banded correctly as a 10 not as 15. Then there are the players to keep for easier games next week with byes on the horizon. My brain hurts!

Glad I kept Look. 30 Mar 08:39
Masi and Tupae and I've gone for Carter Gordon - someone you mentioned recently! Challenging round I agree. Perofeta in the back three but even then there are players in the back 3 who get 20+ points with no kicking required. I like the back 3 to be out and out finishers!

I've gone a bit 'Off-Piste' with my backs this round! Gordon is a solid pick though but away at the Tahs might reduce his chances, same with Lolisio. Made a 5th transfer that should be 'cost neutral' at worst medium term. I'll settle for no Yellow Caps if I can be Top10% consistently. You have made a strong start though Top 200, I'm about 500 behind you. 28 Mar 17:00

Fiji always win at home
Force average
Fine for drua goalkicking flyhalf
Read to be brumbies 29 Mar 06:57
I've had to make an additional transfer this round. My back-up to DMcK was always been William Havili. In the event DMcK didn't play at least I was getting points, and Havili has been playing well and had an excellent few rounds at the start. But I missed the subtle fact that in the last 2 rounds he has been off the bench. So with DMcK out, and Havili off the bench, I was forced into a 5th transfer ( Carter). Watch out for the next few rounds as in round 7,8 and 9 only 8 teams ( 4 are not) are playing and having the right players off the bench might avoid unnecessary transfers last-minute!

Well done Hutch on picking the Brumbies.

Not enough transfers in Super Rugby Fantasy this round due to rest and rotation and injuries on top of only 4 games being played. The top teams always rest some of their top players against the weaker teams. More transfers are needed to negotiate these rounds when fewer games are played.

I wonder if this whole game wouldn't work better with unlimited transfers. Especially if you look at the world cup last year with teams not yet announced prior to the round. Perhaps you retain the right to select a player of your choice, and change as much as you want, or need to, up to game day. Prior to the actual commencement of the game obviously!
