Super Rugby Pacific 2024: Round 5 Predictions

After a couple of difficult weeks, Round 5 looks a little more straightforward to pick.

Here are my Super Rugby predictions for this weekend:

The Drua look like they can beat anyone when they play in Fiji, and I’m tentatively picking the Blues to beat the Crusaders. It feels like the champions’ season will turn around at any minute and they’ll start beating everyone again - and it could be this weekend, given their record over the Blues - but I’m going for a narrow home win.

Couldn't agree more with what you've said about the Crusaders. Let's say a Crusaders win this week to restore some pride. Hurricanes with an entire new backline against The Rebels clearly thinking that the game is in the bag, opens the game up slightly for the struggling Rebels, 33-39 loss last year and expect a close game again. No Roigard, Naholo, Moorby or Ruben Love! For some people in Fantasy Rugby they need to make a few quick changes!

As a 'One Eyed Red n Black Eye-Patch Wearing' Crusaders' fan I'm backing my team yet again but by only 1. If there is a team they would LOVE to beat its the B-Lose!! I think they were robbed in Hamilton in Rd 1 and only narrowly lost to the Hurricanes last round - sweaty slippery ball conditions in Fiji stymied them there and as for the so-called Melbourne fund-raiser 'Super Round' (a Home Game technically??) loss to the Tah (very much!) the less said the better. The new recruits pecking order is taking shape too.
