Rugby Internationals: Round 2 Predictions

This first weekend of the various International series should be fascinating as the players transition from club rugby to international level, and they don’t always pick up where they left off the last time they wore their country’s jersey.

Apologies for the delay in posting these - I'm already 0/1 after Samoa's win in the early hours this morning! However, it's still nice to have a place for some of you to engage in some (friendly) debate about what should be a cracking weekend of international rugby.

Here are my Rugby Internationals predictions for this weekend:

I’m optimistic about England winning a Test in New Zealand, and this first one looks the best opportunity. It might highlight that Super Rugby is not as strong as it used to be when the South African teams were involved, but the All Blacks clearly start as favourites.

I am also backing an Ireland win in Pretoria, which I accept will not be a popular view. There is a fascinating rivalry developing between the current two best teams in the world, which is also now reflected in the URC. The Irish have had slightly longer to prepare for the series, and again, the first Test is likely their best opportunity to catch the hosts cold.

The rest of the picks look fairly straightforward. How do yours compare?

Ireland will make it difficult for SA but if we play well without any cards or stupid penalties, we might scrape it by 1

Ireland beat SA last 3 times and are certainly formidable, should be a cracker. Ireland by 3 but I can't honestly see England winning. NZ by 13.

I agree. It\'s going to be a good game 6 Jul 05:24
5,430 caps
Add some zeros to that scores boys. Boks by 10 (Larry) or 30 (James)... If the mighty Bulls could beat Ireland by 5 then surely the score for Boks should be double that.
6 Jul 05:47

I\'ve put money on Hollywood Bets for Ireland to win (Just for fun) would be awesome for the boks to give Ireland a good thrashing 6 Jul 12:54

You will not achieve a 50% strike rate.

SA deserved the win. Ireland were sloppy.

Neither team deserved to win. Should have been a draw. Very disappointing from the 4x World Champions. Our kicking was absolutely shocking to put it mildly. The replacement kicker should have been brought on after half time 10 Jul 18:13
