Premier League: Round 32 Predictions

Round 31 was probably my best yet in this season's Premier League Predictor as 7/10 with 5 Exacts has pushed me inside the top 3k on the global leaderboard.

Of course, plenty of you did even better than myself and I thought we were on for a cash prize winner on Saturday when lots of people had 5/5 Exact! Unfortunately, Sunday's results were more tricky with a couple of 0-0s but 'D Fitz' was still only 4 points away from the £10,000 jackpot.

Talking of cash prizes, if you're in the UK or Ireland (and over 18), there's also a new opportunity to play for cash in our brand new Cash League which we're introducing specifically for Round 32. You can read more about that here.

On to my Round 32 predictions then... let's see if we can keep up the good form!

Manchester City vs. Crystal Palace

City just look tired at this point so it's really tough to predict how they'll get on, particularly in this fixture as Palace have had their fair share of good results at the Etihad. I haven't got much faith in the hosts, but it's still hard to pick against them and the fact that Palace will be without Marc Guehi makes it slightly easier for me to predict a narrow home win. Prediction: Manchester City 2-1 Crystal Palace

Brighton vs. Leicester

Brighton should definitely win this game, but the big question is can Leicester finally score a goal!? I think the Seagulls are slightly easier to score against than most in the Premier League, so I think I'm going to gamble on a first goal since late January for the Foxes. If they reach 10 league games without a goal, surely Ruud van Nistelrooy starts himself up top? Prediction: Brighton 3-1 Leicester

Nottingham Forest vs. Everton

This game is unlikely to be end-to-end with chances galore, so I'm going with a low scoring home win with Forest pushed on by a home crowd that should be getting very excited about Champions League football next season. There are a few attacking injuries for Forest, but it sounds as if at least one of Anthony Elanga and/or Chris Wood could feature at least in part. Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-0 Everton

Southampton vs. Aston Villa

Considering they're preoccupied with a Champions League quarter-final that they're trailing in but still need to ensure they pick up Premier League wins in the battle for a top 5 spot, this is a very kind fixture for Aston Villa. I am slightly wary of Saints because we've seen teams who have had relegation confirmed start picking up results in previous seasons, but there is quite a gap in quality between these clubs. Prediction: Southampton 1-3 Aston Villa

Arsenal vs. Brentford

Fair play to Arsenal, Tuesday night was a special performance and Declan Rice's free-kicks were the best thing I've seen for a long time in terms of the technique and quality on such a big stage. That tie is still far from over given Madrid's record in the Champions League, so it's hard to tell what will happen here. Yes, the Gunners could hardly have more momentum, but who will Mikel Arteta select? As I'll be saying a lot in these later rounds, I think you have to wait for the lineups before feeling too sure either way. I think a narrow home win is likely, but Brentford could easily get at least a point if we see Saka, Rice, Odegaard and Saliba rested, for example. I think the latter 2 being rested is unlikely given the lack of depth, though. Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Brentford (for now)

Chelsea vs. Ipswich

You never know with this Chelsea team (as we saw in the reverse of this fixture), but things are setup nicely here for a home win considering Ipswich are all but down and the Blues rested some key players in their midweek Europa Conference League match. This should be fairly routine for the hosts. Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Ipswich

Liverpool vs. West Ham

I wouldn't read too much into Liverpool's loss at Fulham last week - it's only their second league defeat all season and Fulham can be very good on their day. I expect a response in this match as West Ham are yet to look too dangerous under Graham Potter and Anfield should be bouncing with the news that Mo Salah has extended his contract. Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 West Ham

Wolves vs. Tottenham

Wolves seem like the team to pick here because Tottenham have been woeful all season in the league and should 100% be prioritising their Europa League quarter-final with Eintract Frankfurt. I didn't expect Matheus Cunha to be struggling to get his place back in the team now that he's available again after suspension but it will be hard for VItor Pereira to change a side that has won 3 on the bounce! Prediction: Wolves 2-1 Tottenham

Newcastle vs. Manchester United

Similar to Tottenham, Manchester United's entire season is now about whether or not they can win the Europa League, so I'm not expecting a huge display from them here. Newcastle should cruise on with another victory - Champions League football next season is looking highly likely for them now. Prediction: Newcastle 2-0 Manchester United

Bournemouth vs. Fulham

This is a real coin flip for me. Fulham have been the more impressive of late, but they're still a very inconsistent side and tend to follow up a strong display with a disappointing one. On that basis (because there's not much else to convince me to pick Bournemouth at the moment) I'm going to risk a home win in spite of the Cherries' form which would really make the fight for 8th spot interesting as that's likely to result in Europa Conference League football in 2025-26. Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 Fulham

I'll add some thoughts on the extra game between Newcastle and Crystal Palace in the comments section once both teams have played this weekend. How do your predictions compare?

Yes I’ve gone 2-1 but not feeling as confident as I was for Newcastle vs. United! Palace have been good on the road for many of their recent games so it will be interesting. 16 Apr 17:54
