Premier League: Round 26 Predictions
Outside of Mikel Merino firing me to an Exact for that 0-2 Arsenal win at Leicester, Round 25 of the Premier League Predictor was a poor one for me with just 4/11.
This week, we're back to a regular 10-match round for the first time in a while and things begin this evening (Friday) so make sure you've made your prediction for that opener!
Here are my thoughts on each game in Round 26.

Leicester vs. Brentford
Brentford look to have well and truly moved on from their terrible away form in this campaign, so I think they should defeat Leicester fairly comfortably. The Bees' attack is a lot sharper than what the Foxes have to offer. Prediction: Leicester 1-3 BrentfordEverton vs. Manchester United
These teams are going in opposite directions at the moment because David Moyes is having the kind of impact at Everton that everyone was expecting Ruben Amorim to have at Manchester United. That's not to say United's issues are all Amorim's doing, far from it, but the turnaround Moyes has overseen with the Toffees really is incredible and I think you have to make them favourites against a United side that is so short of players and goals. Prediction: Everton 2-0 Manchester UnitedArsenal vs. West Ham
This feels like another game where Arsenal should probably get the job done despite their injuries, as West Ham are struggling to find results under Graham Potter. The Hammers have the players to be dangerous in games like this with Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus sharp on the counter, but the latter is out of form and I'd be surprised if West Ham repeat what they did at the Emirates last season. Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 West HamBournemouth vs. Wolves
Bournemouth are right in the mix for European football and should have too much for Wolves who you just can't trust defensively. The attacking quality Wolves show semi-often (largely thanks to Matheus Cunha) is almost always undone by their defence. Prediction: Bournemouth 3-1 WolvesFulham vs. Crystal Palace
Fulham proved me wrong last week with a great win over Nottingham Forest, but I'm still thinking this might be a draw since Crystal Palace have been very good away from home of late. If there is to be a winner, Fulham are the more likely but they aren't exactly a winning machine at Craven Cottage. Prediction: Fulham 1-1 Crystal PalaceIpswich vs. Tottenham
Ipswich completing a league double over Tottenham definitely isn't out of the question, but in the same way Spurs managed a positive result last weekend having had a midweek rest, I think they'll also fancy their chances here with some added rest and recovery time since the victory over Manchester United. Ipswich's home form has been really poor. Prediction: Ipswich 0-2 TottenhamSouthampton vs. Brighton
I remember going for Brighton very hesitantly in the reverse of this fixture which they went and drew 1-1 at the Amex, and I still don't trust them one bit but surely after back-to-back wins over Chelsea they can beat Southampton? As silly as it sometimes feels predicting Brighton to be consistent, backing Saints to win is probably even more optimistic. Prediction: Southampton 1-2 BrightonAston Villa vs. Chelsea
Both of these teams really need a win but I think Aston Villa are the more likely given their strength at home. Villa have been drawing rather than winning a lot of their recent matches at Villa Park but Chelsea have been losing a lot of away games and Enzo Maresca looks very short of fresh ideas amid their attacking injury crisis. Unless the visitors raise their performance level signficantly, Villa should win comfortably. Prediction: Aston Villa 3-1 ChelseaNewcastle vs. Nottingham Forest
This is a difficult one. I can see Nottingham Forest winning just as they did last season at St James' Park, but their recent away defeats at Bournemouth and Fulham can't be ignored and Newcastle have beaten them a couple of times since their win in December 2023. You can argue Newcastle's home form has disappeared, or you can argue that they're due a home win, so I'm hesitantly going with the latter. Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Nottingham ForestManchester City vs. Liverpool
It's been a long time since Liverpool have won this fixture at the Etihad, but this seems like a golden opportunity to do so. I think we'll see a City closer to the one we saw hammer Newcastle last week rather than the side that essentially rolled over in Madrid in midweek, but in the late stages of games we've seen physicality become such a problem for Guardiola's side and Liverpool will surely better them in that department? I can also see Liverpool's pressing forwards being gifted a goal at some stage, so for the first time in several seasons I'm predicting the Reds to win away at City. Prediction: Manchester City 1-2 LiverpoolHow do your predictions compare?
