Premier League Round 7 Predictions!

After breaking my run of 5/10 rounds to manage a 6/10 last weekend, I'm keen to improve further this weekend. There are several matches that look tricky to pick in Round 7 though, with next week's round of Champions League fixtures another factor to consider when making your score predictions for this round and the next!

Here are the Round 7 fixtures along with my predictions for each of them. Make sure you save your own picks to be in with a chance of winning prizes and feel free to let me know in the comments how your predictions differ from my own!

West Ham vs. Manchester United

The circus we've seen on and off the pitch at United throughout this season makes their games incredibly hard to predict. Will the Pogba-Mourinho saga continue to negatively affect results or will there now be a showing of resilience? West Ham have dramatically improved in recent weeks so will fancy this and I think they can get something. Given the way United have been playing, even in their better games, you certainly can't see them comfortably defeating West Ham and with the home crowd still buzzing from that 0-0 with Chelsea and 8-0 Cup win in midweek, I can see this ending all square. Prediction: West Ham 1-1 Man Utd

Arsenal vs. Watford

If there's one thing we've found out from the start of this season it's that Watford are very tough to beat. The Hornets should have won again last week at Fulham and arguably should have down in the Cup against Spurs too but I feel the slight lack of quality that saw them draw each of those games may mean they lose here. Arsenal have started winning and gaining momentum which is so important for Emery despite the fact performances aren't quite there yet. It's impressive that Lacazette and Aubameyang have been scoring despite Aubameyang being played out of position and though I think they'll narrowly win this anyway, I think the Gunners formation may need to alter slightly in the long term if they're to get the best out of the Gabonese forward and the likes of Mesut Ozil. Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Watford

Everton vs. Fulham

Both of these teams have been conceding far too many goals so it's likely there'll be a few in this game and I think it will be Everton picking up a much needed win. Fulham were dreadful at the back against Watford last week and will be thrilled to have managed a point (and nearly three in the end!) but they're now facing an Everton side who played well against Arsenal last week and desperately need a win. One victory from the fixtures Everton have had hasn't been good enough for Silva and i expect him to get a performance from his team even though they look short of a striker. Prediction: Everton 3-1 Fulham

Huddersfield vs. Tottenham

Huddersfield have been improving a little as the season progresses and I think there's a chance that they could get something in this game due to Tottenham's recent results and the fact they have Barcelona to worry about on Wednesday. The Terriers are going to pick up a first win at some point which makes me tempted to pick them but you have to side with Spurs given the difference in squad quality. Harry Kane was rested in midweek and I expect him to find the net on Saturday. Prediction: Huddersfield 1-2 Tottenham

Manchester City vs. Brighton

Just as last week, I can only see a Manchester City win. The margin is difficult to pick though as Brighton have been conceding far more goals at home this season than they usually do but put in a pretty good defensive display at Liverpool where they only lost 1-0. I think City will want to get things wrapped up early on if they can and then rest key players ahead of the Champions League so it's unlikely to be a thrashing. Prediction: Man City 2-0 Brighton

Newcastle vs. Leicester

In my opinion, this is the week that sees Newcastle pick up their first win of the season. Benitez's team are overdue a victory and this is a pretty inconsistent Leicester side. Yes, the Foxes are in better form and could potentially win this two or three nil if they turn up and are at it, but I feel the whole city of Newcastle will see this as a must-win now to kick-start their season and that the players will respond. After this match they have Manchester United away before the international break so it's vital the Toon Army aren't kept waiting much longer for a first win. Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Leicester

Wolves vs. Southampton

I'm following logic and form for this one. Wolves have looked strong this season and play good football so I'm comfortable backing them to beat the Saints at home. Confidence should be very high at Molineux. Prediction: Wolves 2-0 Southampton|

Chelsea vs. Liverpool

What a game this should be! I can't wait to watch this one and we can expect there to be goals. Chelsea are always incredibly hard to beat at the Bridge but it's probably Liverpool that are favourites despite losing on Wednesday given their start to the Premier League season. I see Chelsea having most of the ball with Jorginho and Kovacic coming back into the starting XI but once Liverpool beat the Blues' press there are goals to be had on the counter and I think Salah could have a field day in behind Marcos Alonso. I feel Liverpool will score twice and may well win this game as a result but Chelsea have Eden Hazard who makes up for the lack of a goal-scoring striker considerably. Prediction: Chelsea 2-2 Liverpool

Cardiff vs. Burnley

For Cardiff, this is a similar situation to the one I have outlined for Newcastle whereby the fans will feel this is a golden chance to get a first win on the board. The issue I have is that I feel far more comfortable picking Newcastle to win a match than the Bluebirds. Burnley had a fantastic result last week but that all comes to nothing if they lose in Wales so I'm backing Sean Dyche to ensure that doesn't happen. Prediction: Cardiff 1-1 Burnley

Bournemouth vs. Crystal Palace

Each of the games between these two finished 2-2 last season and Palace won at the Vitality the season before so they'll certainly fancy their chances ahead of this one. However, I feel Bournemouth need an immediate response to last week's embarrassing scoreline at Turf Moor and Eddie Howe's team have already shown they're more than capable of playing to the level required to win this match. I picture all three outcomes so certainly don't feel confident but I feel Bournemouth are the safest pick. Prediction: Bournemouth 2-1 Crystal Palace

Best of luck to you all with your own picks!

Good predictions which I acually used to fix up my own predictions, but there are 2 or 3 games I want to discuss. First one is Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace. We usually see one 0-0 game a week, and this week (IMO) is no different. Bournemouth is a good side, but I can see heads clashing in this game and nobody can breakt through. Another is Cardiff Burnley, I do think a draw is possible but I think Burnley will ride momentum and get the 1-0 win. Lastly is Chelsea vs Liverpool, the game of the weekend. Again, i just slightly disagree with a draw, I think Liverpool will get the win like they did vs PSG and win 3-2. Salah may be the winnng goal, and the battle between him and Hazard will be fun! Thank you for the help, have a nice weekend of footy!

Hey Caleb, I think in a similar way in that I'm always on the lookout for the potential 0-0 of the week but it's always brave to pick one. Think you have some strong picks there as Bournemouth could well be a draw (I expect a couple of goals though) and perhaps Cardiff v Burnley could be the 0-0! Completely agree that Liverpool are the more likely to win Saturday's big one and 2-3 isn't a bad pick at all. Just think both sides will be eager to avoid losing the game - Chelsea motivated by halting Liverpool's winning run and Liverpool keen to avoid losing momentum ahead of fixtures against Napoli and City in the next week. Best of luck with your predictions and enjoy any games you watch! 28 Sep 15:43
