Premier League: Round 33 Predictions
We've had some excellent European games since, but looking back at Round 32 of the Premier League I can see that it's a good job that I had a couple of Exacts within just 4/10 correct picks.
Aston Villa and Chelsea tripped most of us up with poor performances while Luton's unexpected win has made the relegation battle even more interesting (as has an extra points deduction for Everton).
Here are my picks for each match in Round 33 of our Premier League Predictor game.
Good luck with your Round 33 predictions. Feel free to leave them in the comments!

Here are my picks for each match in Round 33 of our Premier League Predictor game.
Newcastle vs. Tottenham
I've been struggling to predict Newcastle's games in the last few weeks and this is another tough one because I still don't have any faith in Tottenham either despite their recent results that have got them up to 4th. I'm leaning more towards an away win than Newcastle simply because of the hosts' injury list but think we could see a high scoring draw. Newcastle 2-2 TottenhamBrentford vs. Sheffield United
Brentford ought and need to win this game so I'm going with the Bees. Thomas Frank will be desperate to ensure his side don't get dragged into this relegation battle and three points here will lift them 7 points clear of the bottom three. They've been struggling for goals at home but that shouldn't be a problem against this Blades team. Brentford 2-0 Sheffield UnitedBurnley vs. Brighton
Survival is still possible, but it feels like Burnley's defeat at Goodison last week means they're doomed unless they can find three points here. Their form hadn't been bad ahead of that match, and they've got Sheffield United away next so three points here would give them a real chance of a late surge, but Brighton have far more quality and I think the Seagulls will control the game. Burnley 1-2 BrightonManchester City vs. Luton
City will rotate their team a lot for this game, but when you're able to bring in the likes of Jeremy Doku, Matheus Nunes and Julian Alvarez, you should still beat Luton quite comfortably. Manchester City 2-0 LutonNottingham Forest vs. Wolves
You have to feel for Wolves given how many times they've been very harshly treated by VAR this season, but with just 1 win in 5 it does feel difficult to back them to beat a Nottingham Forest side fighting for their lives away from home. Forest have looked a little better of late and I'm picking them to win because of what's at stake but I'm very hesitant as it still feels like they lack any kind of clinical edge aside from that first half performance against Fulham. Nottingham Forest 2-1 WolvesBournemouth vs. Manchester United
As I say every week, United are a nightmare to predict with the last round against Liverpool another game where they somehow managed a result despite an unconvincing performance. Of course, that was largely Liverpool's fault because they didn't take their chances, so this prediction is also about whether or not Bournemouth can convert the shots on goal that they will undoubtedly have. It genuinely feels like you may as well flip a coin. I was going to go with Bournemouth but it sounds like they're missing a couple of attackers now so let's go with an unconvincing United win. Bournemouth 1-2 Manchester UnitedLiverpool vs. Crystal Palace
Last night's 0-3 win for Atalanta at Anfield really was a shocking result and it changes the feeling around this run-in for Liverpool quite considerably as like most I expected them to be heading to Dublin for the Europa League Final. Obviously it's not impossible that they turn that tie around, but I think Crystal Palace might feel the full force of a response from the Reds who have now dropped points at Old Trafford due to complacent finishing and been badly beaten at home (likely due to some complacency as well) in the space of a week. Surely Klopp will be demanding a win by a few goals here? Liverpool 3-0 Crystal PalaceWest Ham vs. Fulham
Another difficult pick with West Ham in the middle of that difficult quarter-final against Bayer Leverkusen but it feels as if Fulham are on the beach a bit. There's still plenty for the Hammers to play for as they'll be eager to keep up their run of qualifying for the European tournaments so I'm going with a narrow home win. West Ham 2-1 FulhamArsenal vs. Aston Villa
Villa were excellent in the reverse of this fixture that they won but I think this will be a fairly comfortable victory for Arsenal. Yes the Gunners have got Bayern on Wednesday, but the way the title race is they simply can't afford to risk dropping points in a game like this with a weakened selection so it may actually be Emery that rotates because Villa's away leg at Lille won't be easy at all in the Europa Conference League. Arsenal 3-1 Aston VillaChelsea vs. Everton
Everton basically never score two goals in a game, but Chelsea always concede two goals in a game so what happens here!? Somehow, Chelsea haven't lost any of their last seven despite conceding at least twice in each of them so they should also be able to get the better of Everton if they can maintain their (Cole Palmer's) attacking form. It's been a long, long time since Everton have won at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea 2-1 EvertonGood luck with your Round 33 predictions. Feel free to leave them in the comments!
Cocked my FPL big time too. Was going to buy Cunha (2 goals for Wolves!) as it was the only way I could afford Ha-Ha-land, who of course gets another pen (they should not be worth the same as open play goals surely?). I planned to sell Son & Watkins to raise 14.4M for Haaland. Then I read that cheapy Cunha was still INJURED! So instead I bought Havertz (14pts at Brighton!). I also had Gabriel & White in defence for The Arse. Oh and Fulham's goalie Leno (7pts) on my bench along with Villa's Watkins (7pts). 20 pts so far the average is 38!
But there is HOPE! I have Palmer as Capt plus wing-back Gusto for Chelsea v Everton. If its 2-2 btw Chelsea will set an EPL record for scoring & conceding AT LEAST 2 in ELEVEN matches in a season, what 'Entertainers'!
Seeing as SB don't do Fantasy Football anymore (plenty of XV Fantasy Rugby though?) I recommend you give it a go next season. Helping my SB Predictions too. 16 Apr 01:25
