Premier League: Round 32 Predictions

The midweek Round 31 was certainly an entertaining one, and I did OK with 6/10 and a couple of Exacts on Tuesday for the Newcastle v Everton and West Ham v Tottenham draws.

Last night's game at Stamford Bridge was absolutely ridiculous. I picked Manchester United to win but didn't feel as if they deserved to even when they were in front late on, though it's also hard to argue Chelsea were worthy of the three points! Overall, the match summed up how both teams' seasons have been and I think the inconsistency they each showed even in that one single game was yet another example of why it's going to be hard to predict how they'll do yet again this weekend...

Here are my picks for each match in Round 32 of our Premier League Predictor game.

Crystal Palace vs. Manchester City

Palace away in the early kick-off isn't the most comfortable of fixtures for Manchester City, but you'd still be quite brave to go against them on Superbru. They tend to get the job done at Selhurst Park and Palace aren't exactly in great form. Crystal Palace 0-2 Manchester City

Aston Villa vs. Brentford

Villa are strong at home and with John McGinn, Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Martinez all likely to return after missing midweek, I'm going with them. You have to be slightly worried for Brentford but the two fixtures that they have after this are ultimately golden opportunities to make sure they stay up. Aston Villa 3-1 Brentford

Everton vs. Burnley

A huge opportunity for Everton to finally end their winning run and after that Calvert-Lewin equaliser at Newcastle in midweek, I think they can pick up the three points they really need here. Part of me wouldn't mind seeing Burnley win though as a victory for the Clarets in this game really would shake things up at the bottom! Everton 1-0 Burnley

Fulham vs. Newcastle

Now that they're back at home, we can expect an improved Fulham performance and Newcastle aren't great on the road so I think it makes sense to pick the hosts. Obviously Newcastle have a load of injuries as well which won't help. It's not an easy pick but Fulham need a response to that performance at Forest - Marco Silva's triple change in the first half was a pretty damning indicator of how he felt about the display. Fulham 2-1 Newcastle

Luton Town vs. Bournemouth

I'm very tempted by a draw here, because Luton give everyone a game at Kenilworth Road and Bournemouth tend to only win by a goal even when in great form (which they have been of late). The Cherries look the more likely to take the points if there is a winner, but with Luton's situation getting quite desperate I think they can pick up a point. Luton 1-1 Bournemouth

Wolves vs. West Ham

I'm going with Wolves here as they're starting to get their best forwards back from injury and with home advantage, they should have enough against West Ham who will surely already have one eye on their Europa League quarter-final. I know there's a fair amount of time between this game and Thursday night, but the Hammers' league form hasn't been great anyway and they're going to need to be fresh and at their very best in the Europa League to stand a chance away at Leverkusen. Wolves 2-1 West Ham

Brighton vs. Arsenal

Brighton's home record is solid so it takes a lot to go against them but it's really difficult to look past Arsenal's current run of form. Again, the upcoming European quarter-finals are something to consider as the Gunners have Bayern on Tuesday night, but the nature of this title race means they simply cannot afford to drop points in this game and I think they'll be at full strength having rotated for Luton. Brighton 1-2 Arsenal

Manchester United vs. Liverpool

As mentioned in the intro, you simply don't know what you're going to get with Manchester United and a dramatic win like they managed in the FA Cup against Liverpool isn't impossible, but what we do know is that if these teams each play at their average level so far this season, an away win is likely. After losing that Cup tie at Old Trafford, I can only see Liverpool improving to try and gain revenge here and it wouldn't surprise me if they actually end up doing some real damage to United.

Erik ten Hag has a lot of injuries in central defence and if they start this game like they did the Chelsea game on Thursday, Liverpool are not going to be as charitable as Chelsea were if they get two goals in front. Anything is possible in this game, but I think Liverpool might end up making a real statement. Manchester United 1-3 Liverpool

Sheffield United vs. Chelsea

Similarly, you don't know what you're going to get from Chelsea but we do know that Sheffield United are the weakest side in the division which means you have to go with an away win in my opinion. Chelsea are still making ridiculous errors every week so I think Sheffield United will score but the Blues should still take the points, largely thanks to Cole Palmer's quality. Sheffield United 1-2 Chelsea

Tottenham vs. Nottingham Forest

Tottenham should end up winning this fairly comfortably in my opinion as Nottingham Forest have won just twice away from home this season. One of those wins was very early in the season at Chelsea and the other was very early in Nuno's reign at Newcastle. Spurs are back close to full strength and Manchester United's recent results mean there's little pressure on them for fifth place which makes the 'battle' for Champions League football fairly straightforward if the Premier League ends up with five qualification spots as is expected. Tottenham 3-1 Nottingham Forest

Good luck with your Round 32 predictions. Feel free to leave them in the comments!

Hmmm? Lots of draws lately, helped me get 8/10 last round. Yet you only have Luton v Bournemouth 1-1.Jack? I might add Wolves v West 'AM! & even Everton v Burnley with Chelsea loanee Fofana netting for 1-1.
