Premier League: Round 29 Predictions

An Exact for the Liverpool vs. City game helped keep my Round 28 score relatively respectable, but after only getting 5 correct overall I've got plenty of work to do during the season run-in!

This weekend we have a 4-game round due to the FA Cup quarter-finals also taking place, but it doesn't look like an easy fixture list for Predictor players.

Here are my picks for each match in Round 29 of our Premier League Predictor game.

Burnley vs. Brentford

Burnley still haven't won since before Christmas after somehow finding a way to drop points at West Ham from 0-2 up last week, so it's hard to have any real confidence in them here. While it was always going to be tough for Burnley to stay up, I think we all feel slightly underwhelmed by Vincent Kompany's team, and Brentford look like favourites despite having a tough season themselves.

Recent performances against some strong opponents have provided some encouragement for the Bees, and it sounds as if Bryan Mbeumo is close to a return which will be a huge boost. I was considering a draw but Brentford really need the points and they should have the attacking talent to get a couple of goals. Burnley 1-2 Brentford

Luton Town vs. Nottingham Forest

This is a huge game which would have been even more significant if Luton hadn't butchered that 3-goal lead at Bournemouth in midweek! Such a monumental collapse can't be ideal for confidence heading into this one, but Luton are scoring plenty of goals which has made me hesitate after initially thinking I'd pick Forest.

Nuno had a couple of good early results in his Forest reign but it feels like things are on the slide at the moment. Given how Luton's game went in midweek, surely it will make sense for them to throw caution to the wind a bit and setup with three dangerous players like Elanga, Gibbs-White and Hudson-Odoi behind either Wood or Awoniyi? If that's the kind of lineup we see, I think I'll switch to a Forest win as the Luton defence is definitely vulnerable but if instead we see a similar lineup to last week with the wingers on the bench and a 'safer' midfield, I think Luton can get at least a point. Luton 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Fulham vs. Tottenham

Marco Silva is doing a fantastic job yet again this season with Fulham so this won't be easy for Spurs. I was going to write that after the 0-4 win at Villa last week, Spurs will surely continue that momentum and march on towards the top four here but actually, Tottenham regularly do the complete opposite of that.

Micky van de Ven's injury is another thing that adds doubt to this pick, but the attacking confidence that Spurs are playing with under Postecoglou should just about see them win I think. The 'Spursy' tag will quickly return if they fail to follow up on last week's excellent result so this will be an interesting test to see if they can indeed continue making strides in this new chapter. Fulham 1-2 Tottenham

West Ham vs. Aston Villa

A really difficult one to finish with. Both teams had excellent results in Europe on Thursday but that doesn't change the fact that last weekend was a real disaster for Villa, not only in terms of the result but with John McGinn now suspended for three games too. Villa's record at West Ham is poor and if West Ham can show a level close to the one they played with against Freiburg on Thursday, this could easily be a home win.

However, West Ham often aren't at the level that they are in European competitions when playing in the Premier League, so it's very difficult to tell how they'll perform. I'm going with a draw as I'm really not sure what to pick ahead of seeing the lineups, so let me know your own thoughts in the comments! West Ham 1-1 Aston Villa

Good luck with your Round 29 predictions.
