Premier League Predictor: Round 1 Match Previews

The new Premier League season is here.

Arsenal begin their title defence with a home fixture against Coventry City tomorrow night (Friday). The opening 10-match round then finishes with a South West London derby between Fulham and Chelsea on Monday night.

Defending champions Arsenal have already made a strong start to the 2026-27 campaign, beating Manchester City 3-0 in Cardiff last Sunday in this season's Community Shield. Mikel Arteta's side were of course always strong favourites in this opener against newly promoted Coventry City, but Sunday's game has given us an idea of which players are already up to speed. New winger Christos Tzolis was excellent, picking up two assists on his debut for the Gunners, while captain Martin Ødegaard looked back to his best in midfield.…

Some very tricky games to call - notably Ipswich-Sunderland, Everton-Palace, Brentford-Spurs and Brighton-Villa. The old predicting game just doesn't get any easier, lol.

Also, I wouldn't mind watching Brighton-Villa and Newcastle-Liverpool on Sunday. However, I am going to a double feature of Batman and Batman Returns (Tim Burton films), I booked my seat today. It's the only showing they're doing of it and I have never seen the films on the big screen. I had to go for it, lol.

Talking of movies. I've been been watching The Thing Expanded. A fantastic 5 hour-plus documentary. Also, prior to that, I watched Alien and Aliens Expanded. 4 hours of pure art.

I have been watching the Apple Tv series Silo, Dark Matter and Foundations. All 3 series are excellent shows. Also watched a Star Wars Anime series called Visions. Recommend all of these shows. Sci-fi drama genre.
