Predictions: Jack's Round 25 Premier League Picks

Like many, I got excited about the potential for a very good title race going into last weekend, but then City went and dropped points again so it's back to looking very difficult for Pep Guardiola's side.

This week, City face a very tough assignment, but I suppose that also means an opportunity for a statement win.

Last round

3/10 and just 3 points. I think this was probably my worst round of the season in terms of how poor some of my picks were. I watched the Sunderland game thinking I'd picked them to win so I don't know why I'd committed to a draw on Friday! I was a bit unlucky that my Fulham draw at Old Trafford pick didn't come off, though.

Here are my thoughts on Round 25 where there's a lot of work to do to make up ground in my leagues.

Leeds vs. Nottingham Forest

A really important match this evening because the loser of this one could well end up in trouble this season. With that in mind, I wonder if we might see a draw? I actually think Forest might be the more likely to win given their recent form and Leeds have faded slightly, but I wonder if both teams see this as a must not lose rather than a must win. Prediction: Leeds 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Manchester United vs. Tottenham

I obviously had my doubts about Manchester United last week as I picked a draw which so nearly came off, but I think they'll be alright here. The momentum gained from winning that game late on will be huge, particularly since it was Benjamin Sesko who came on to contribute, and you'd think United will have too much for a Tottenham side that is so short of players in defence and midfield at the moment. Prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Tottenham

Arsenal vs. Sunderland

We saw a draw between these two at the Stadium of Light but this should be routine for Arsenal at home. I'd be very surprised if Sunderland get anything. Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Sunderland

Bournemouth vs. Aston Villa

Tricky one. I was surprised, like almost everyone else, that Villa lost again at home last week but should we be so shocked when so many of their most important midfielders are injured? Suddenly, this looks like an opportunity for a Bournemouth side hitting form but it could obviously go either way. Prediction: Bournemouth 3-2 Aston Villa

Burnley vs. West Ham

Burnley were absolutely shocking at Sunderland on Monday. I think there's a chance they draw this game now that they're back at home, but West Ham have looked a lot better in attack of late so I'm going with the visitors. Prediction: Burnley 1-2 West Ham

Fulham vs. Everton

Everton's record in this fixture has me hesitant, but I think a Fulham win makes sense at Craven Cottage given the hosts' recent form and the signing of Oscar Bobb creating some excitement. I don't think there'll be a lot in the game but Fulham have found a habit of late winners and equalisers in recent home games. Prediction: Fulham 2-1 Everton

Wolves vs. Chelsea

Chelsea should come out on top here. Wolves didn't play terribly last week against Bournemouth but that 0-2 defeat will therefore have hurt and they're up against a much stronger squad in this game. Prediction: Wolves 1-3 Chelsea

Newcastle vs. Brentford

Newcastle really need a win here but it's not going to be easy against this Brentford side. The Magpies really need Bruno Guimaraes back and it sounds like he might be so my instinct is a narrow home win but I've thought hard about going for a draw. Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Brentford

Brighton vs. Crystal Palace

I honestly have no idea for this one. Brighton ought to win at home against a rival, but after such a bizarre deadline day, will Crystal Palace suddenly have a bit of optimism and a happier Oliver Glasner for the rest of the season? Based on Brighton's recent home results this will be 1-1 but I'm backing the Seagulls to find a winner. Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Crystal Palace

Liverpool vs. Manchester City

The big game of the weekend. I thought Liverpool were excellent last week against Newcastle, so maybe it's recency bias but I'm just not sure Manchester City have it in them to win at Anfield at the moment. After such a poor defence of their title, Liverpool will at least want to make a mark in a game like this and while you can never feel confident going against players like Erling Halaand and Gianluigi Donnarumma, I'm just not sure I can pick City to win when they haven't at Sunderland, Man Utd and Tottenham. Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Manchester City

Best of luck with your own Round 25 predictions! Remember, there's another Road to the World Cup key up for grabs if you can put 10 incredible picks together.
