Predictions: Jack's Round 19 Premier League Picks

We've reached Round 19 of this Premier League season which means we'll officially be at the halfway point once these 10 matches have been played.

That's slightly concerning news for me as I've been assuring people that I do a lot better in the second half of the Predictor each season, so the pressure is on as of this coming weekend.

This midweek round contains fixtures either side of the turn of the calendar year so Happy New Year all! 2026 is set to be an awesome one with a World Cup to enjoy.

Last round

I got the most obvious 4 correct but nothing else. Newcastle doing so little with the ball at Old Trafford was frustrating, as was Chelsea's second half performance against Aston Villa. Crystal Palace continue to destroy my predictions each week and Dominic Calvert-Lewin has developed quite a knack for doing so as well.

Here are my thoughts on Round 19.

Burnley vs. Newcastle

This is a horrible one to start with and the kind of game that I've been on the wrong side of all season predictions wise. Of course Newcastle should win, but they've won 1/9 on the road in this campaign so you equally can't be surprised if Burnley manage a point and this is another 0-0. Newcastle dominated possession at Old Trafford but I don't think they were unlucky as such, they just didn't create enough. Surely after a game like that they can put things right here as all focus since that game should have been on chance creation. Prediction: Burnley 0-2 Newcastle

Chelsea vs. Bournemouth

This is the kind of match you can definitely see Chelsea losing in a similar way to Brighton and Sunderland at home this season and indeed Villa a few days ago, but Bournemouth just keeping finding ways to not win. Andoni Iraola is too good a coach for that to continue much longer, but I'm going to play safe and go for a Chelsea win after Bournemouth failed to win the reverse fixture at home a few weeks ago. Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Bournemouth

Nottingham Forest vs. Everton

Everton battered Nottingham Forest at home which is definitely a factor to consider when making this pick, but it was quite a different Toffees team to the one we'll see in this match, even if Jack Grealish is back. I thought Forest were good against City at the weekend so if they can find a similar performance here it should be enough. Prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-0 Everton

West Ham vs. Brighton

I backed West Ham to win at the weekend because of how much they needed three points, and I suppose you could say they need them even more now, but that loss to Fulham really does make you question whether or not they can survive this season. Brighton are in need of a win themselves and with Kaoru Mitoma back available and Yankuba Minteh a little fresher after being benched at Arsenal, they're going to be the side with more firepower I think. Prediction: West Ham 1-2 Brighton

Arsenal vs. Aston Villa

Huge. I think you still have to make Arsenal favourites, but with Villa on an 11-game winning streak which included a victory over Arsenal in the reverse fixture, it's definitely not a great time for the Gunners to be playing them even if Gabriel is now back. I said it before the Chelsea game too but I'm just not sure how sustainable Villa's more recent performances are.

That's crazy and probably harsh to say after 11 wins on the trot, but each of their last three wins have been far from dominant. I don't think they were lucky at Chelsea because Unai Emery's substitutions were excellent and if they can pull off something similar here they'll deservedly sit joint top of the league as we enter 2026. However, Arsenal just have the slightly more sustainable approach built on physicality and power in my opinion, even if their recent matches have also been won with thin margins. Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Aston Villa

Manchester United vs. Wolves

United won the reverse fixture at Molineux quite easily as Wolves were absolutely terrible that night, and while I think this will be a bit closer because of the players United are now missing, you have to go with a home win. Since the start of October, Wolves have been the one team that's been easy to predict in this Premier League season, and while that'll change at some point, let's all keep making the most of it for now. Prediction: Manchester United 3-1 Wolves

Crystal Palace vs. Fulham

I've just looked back and I've managed to correctly predict 1 Crystal Palace match in the last 6 rounds. I've been telling you all they'll get tired from their schedule and start falling away soon, yet they won at Burnley and Fulham when I went against them before losing to Leeds and Tottenham when I backed them. Strangely, Fulham do a lot better in away games against Palace than they do at Craven Cottage so I'm tempted to back them here, but I'm going to go with a draw and a very tired uneventful game since Fulham are also short of players due to AFCON. Prediction: Crystal Palace 0-0 Fulham

Liverpool vs. Leeds

If Dominic Calvert-Lewin is able to fire Leeds to a point or more in this game as well then fair play to him because I'm going with a Liverpool win. The Reds are still far from title winning level performances but Florian Wirtz is starting to look a bit more Leverkusen Wirtz and I fancy Liverpool to score a couple of goals which I'm not sure Leeds will match. Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Leeds

Brentford vs. Tottenham

Thomas Frank got the better of his former team Brentford at Spurs' Stadium a few weeks ago, but we all know this is the proper test as he heads back to the Gtech. The Bees' fans will be well up for this and given Brentford's home form so far this season, I think they'll manage at least a point. Lots has been made about Tottenham's away form and it is of course far better than their home results but Forest away was a shocker and while their win at Palace was a great result last time out, it wasn't convincing and the Gtech has been a tougher place to go so far this season. Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Tottenham

Sunderland vs. Manchester City

Finally, I think this is the round where the Stadium of Light might finally lose it's 'fortress' status as Manchester City are likely to be too much for a Sunderland team missing this many players. The reverse game was one-way traffic and the attacking combinations between Phil Foden, Erling Haaland and now Rayan Cherki are a joy to watch. Prediction: Sunderland 0-2 Manchester City

Best of luck with your own Round 19 predictions!
