Predictions: Jack's Round 15 Premier League Picks

This Premier League Predictor isn't getting any easier, is it?

It is at least very entertaining to watch (that Fulham vs. Man City game in particular) and the table is very interesting with so many teams so close together.

Unfortunately, that makes for some tough predictions. This week looks even tougher than the midweek to me!

Last round

3/10 and 5.5 points. Rough. I actually think I could have predicted the Chelsea defeat, as I hinted slightly with my blurb for that game, and the same can probably be said by everyone for lots of the other matches - of course Man Utd let people down and of course Liverpool didn't win!

Here are my thoughts on Round 15.

Aston Villa vs. Arsenal

What a match to begin with. Aston Villa's rise up the table has been extraordinary given their start and Unai Emery again deserves immense credit. Villa are great at grinding out results even when not playing brilliantly (and Villa fans will tell you that they haven't played well for quite a few of their recent wins), but I'm just not sure they'll be able to do that against Arsenal. Villa are capable of winning this game, but they'll have to be close to their very best, and we haven't seen too much to suggest they'll be at that level so I'm going with a narrow away win. Prediction: Aston Villa 1-2 Arsenal

Bournemouth vs. Chelsea

As those of you that read my Round 14 piece will know, Bournemouth have now let me down for 3 consecutive rounds so I'm going to pick Chelsea while fully expecting the Cherries to therefore finally win. This is the kind of match that I can see Chelsea struggling in without Moises Caicedo, however, now that they've already had 'that kind of match' away at Leeds where they were caught cold, I'm wondering if they now bounce back with Reece James back in the team and less chance of complacency. Prediction: Bournemouth 0-2 Chelsea

Everton vs. Nottingham Forest

A really tricky one. These teams feel really evenly matched and I can quite easily picture each of the three outcomes happening so I'm going to go down the middle with a draw. I'm not sure anyone can feel too confident either way. Prediction: Everton 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Manchester City vs. Sunderland

We certainly have the ingredients in place for an upset here, since Sunderland are really good and Man City are conceding a lot of goals, but I'm backing City to outgun the Black Cats in the end as they have Leeds and Fulham. People are understandably focused on Fulham's second half surge on Tuesday night but the quality of City's goals in that game was pretty incredible. Prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Sunderland

Newcastle vs. Burnley

This should be one way traffic and a Newcastle win. Scott Parker sounded as if he'd almost given up on the season in his post-match interview for Burnley in midweek, so I'm not sure that bodes particularly well ahead of this tricky fixture. Prediction: Newcastle 3-0 Burnley

Tottenham vs. Brentford

This has the potential to be very enjoyable for fans of narrative within football such as myself. Spurs just can't buy a home win at the moment and I can't decide if playing Thomas Frank's former team Brentford is good or bad for the Tottenham manager. Brentford aren't very good away, but they might not need to be.

The home atmosphere element to this match is fascinating because the toxicity and criticism genuinely seems to be affecting the players. With that in mind, an early goal for Brentford may well be enough for a point. I think Spurs probably win since Frank should know this Brentford side inside out, but I'm risking a draw because picking Tottenham to win at home just feels silly at the moment. Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Brentford

Leeds vs. Liverpool

Another match that is harder to predict than it should be, but I'm playing safe with a Liverpool win. After their season so far and after seeing Leeds' result in midweek, there's no chance the Reds take this game lightly and I think we've seen slight improvement from them in the last couple of rounds. Prediction: Leeds 1-2 Liverpool

Brighton vs. West Ham

Nuno deserves plenty of credit already at West Ham for making them quite competitive again as they really were horrendous in his first couple of matches. Brighton should win this, though. Home advantage feels significant after such a busy week and they'll want an immediate response to their first home defeat in quite some time on Wednesday against Villa. Prediction: Brighton 3-1 West Ham

Fulham vs. Crystal Palace

My gamble going against Crystal Palace in midweek didn't pay off, though it looks as if they only just managed that win at Burnley - I haven't had time to watch much of that game back so please correct me if I'm wrong, Palace fans! My feeling about the Eagles remains the same though - their first XI is so strong and they're such a well coached side but they surely can't keep getting results with the same XI in such a busy calendar? Fulham have looked much sharper in attack of late and they don't lose too many at home under Marco Silva so I'm going to go with the hosts. Prediction: Fulham 2-1 Crystal Palace

Wolves vs. Manchester United

Finally, I think you have to pick Manchester United here. Wolves will surely win at some point, and if it happens against Ruben Amorim's United it certainly wouldn't be as shocking as if they beat quite a few other teams in the league, but surely United can give us just one routine Superbru prediction. Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Manchester United

Best of luck with your own Round 15 predictions!
