Predictions: Jack's Round 11 Premier League Picks

Round 11 of the Premier League arrives with another manager gone, as Wolves parted ways with Vitor Pereira following yet another defeat last weekend, this time at Fulham.

I think that means we now won't have any sackings during the international break that follows this round, though you can never tell for sure with the Premier League.

Last round

6/10 and 11.5 points. Not terrible, but I need a few outstanding rounds at some point to make up for a slow start!

Here are my thoughts on Round 11.

Tottenham vs. Manchester United

Tottenham have won a home Champions League game since which might help them improve their league form, but last week's display against Chelsea was *bad*. With that in mind, it's tough to pick them here, but I'm torn between a draw and a Manchester United win. United's recent record against Spurs is poor, so let's go with the former. Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Manchester United

Everton vs. Fulham

Tricky one. Now that they've cut their losing run and have players back from injury, I have a sneaky feeling Fulham might win this, but Everton winning as the home side probably makes more sense. Assuming Iliman Ndiaye is fit, I'm going with the Toffees as they'll create chances through him and Jack Grealish, but this could easily go either way. Prediction: Everton 2-1 Fulham

West Ham vs. Burnley

After surprising us all with that win last week, surely West Ham kick on and beat Burnley now as well? It's the ideal fixture to have except for perhaps Wolves. The momentum is suddenly there and I think Nuno will ensure they maintain composure and structure. Prediction: West Ham 2-0 Burnley

Sunderland vs. Arsenal

I'm really interested to see how Sunderland can do in this game since there's no pressure on them at all, but you'd be brave to go against Arsenal at the moment. I see this going similarly to the Gunners' match at Fulham. Prediction: Sunderland 0-1 Arsenal

Chelsea vs. Wolves

Chelsea's last few results across all competitions have shown they continue to lack consistency as a young side, but this should be a walk in the park. It sounds as if Wolves will be led by a couple of caretaker managers, so they just need to get to the international break and regroup. Prediction: Chelsea 3-0 Wolves

Aston Villa vs. Bournemouth

I like Bournemouth and I've considered picking them here, but Aston Villa just tend to be so strong at home under Unai Emery and their last home display against Manchester City was another example. I'm less sure they'll hit that top level that they often save for the 'big teams' in a game like this one though, so I'm wondering if we'll see a draw. Prediction: Aston Villa 1-1 Bournemouth

Brentford vs. Newcastle

Will Newcastle finally turn up in an away game? It's very hard to back them after last week's display at West Ham. Again, I've been thinking about the draw, but why not a Brentford win? The Bees are playing with plenty of confidence at the Gtech and Newcastle just don't seem to be finding their necessary intensity when on the road. Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Newcastle

Crystal Palace vs. Brighton

I think Crystal Palace will probably shade this. Brighton are a decent side, as they showed last weekend, but usually concede too many goals and home advantage feels particularly significant in this fixture with the Eagles unbeaten in the league at Selhurst Park. There have been plenty of 1-1s between these two so that's a temptation but I can picture Jean-Philippe Mateta scoring late on. Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-1 Brighton

Nottingham Forest vs. Leeds United

This should and probably needs to be Sean Dyche's first Premier League win in charge of Nottingham Forest. Leeds are struggling for goals away from home and we saw an improved display from Forest in that last league outing against Manchester United. Prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-0 Leeds

Manchester City vs. Liverpool

I'm sticking with my plan of backing City to win this, but Liverpool looked so much better and harder to beat in midweek against Real Madrid now that they've brought Andy Robertson back. That's not even to say that Robertson has been a standout performer himself (Conor Bradley was against Madrid though), but by selecting him Arne Slot has restored some familiarity to the backline and just signalled a bit of intention to calm things down from the overly attacking displays we saw for the first 8 or 9 rounds of this season.

The main reason I'm sticking with City however, is Erling Haaland. Since that Round 2 match against Spurs, City have looked much more like their old selves at the Etihad, and Haaland looks unstoppable this season. Even with Gravenberch back for Liverpool and that more pragmatic defensive line, City are going to create chances given the form of Phil Foden, Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki, and they certainly have a guy that can finish said chances. Prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Liverpool
