Predictions: Hutch's Rugby Championship Round 6 Picks

The tournament reaches its climax this weekend, with the Springboks in pole position at the top of the table.

Here are my Rugby Championship predictions for Round 6.

Australia vs. New Zealand

I like the look of the All Blacks line-up for this game, and they seem to be taking a leaf out of the Boks’ playbook by stacking the bench with impact players that could make a real difference in the final quarter. I also think the Wallabies lineup looks strong, with Will Skelton providing some bulk up front and the backline should be dangerous if it gets a platform.

I think this one could go either way, but I’m leaning towards New Zealand to give themselves a chance of winning the tournament.

Prediction: New Zealand by 6

Argentina vs. South Africa

If this match were in Mendoza, I’d hesitate a bit longer over my pick, but at Twickenham I can only see one winner. The Boks have scored 110 points in their last two outings versus the All Blacks and the Pumas, and they surely can’t be stopped from lifting the trophy.

Argentina have made a raft of changes as they look for a different outcome from last weekend’s drubbing, but if anything I think they’ve made things worse. It looks like they’ll be in for a long afternoon in London.

Prediction: South Africa by 23
