Premier League Predictor: Round 14 Predictions
Things were a bit more kind to us Predictor players in Round 13 of the Premier League - I was reasonably pleased with 6/10 including 1 Exact despite my gamble on a draw at the City Ground failing.
There's not much time for reflection though as we're straight into the first midweek round of the season. As is always the case in the Premier League, there are several very tough looking fixtures in Round 14 (particularly this evening to kick us off) so let's see how we get on.
Here are my score predictions. Let me know your own in the comments!

How many of these 10 do you agree with? Expecting plenty of variation in this round!

Ipswich vs. Crystal Palace
This is a big opportunity for both teams and while it's Ipswich who have home advantage, I feel like Crystal Palace can earn at least a point to continue their gradual improvement this season. After a few draws on the road, perhaps they can finally manage an away win now that Eberechi Eze is back? Prediction: Ipswich 1-2 Crystal PalaceLeicester vs. West Ham
This is a horrible one to call as it looks as if it would have to be quite some bounce under Ruud van Nistelrooy to get Leicester winning again after just a couple of days in the job, but West Ham are terribly inconsistent so it's all about who we see turn up on the night - the side that won at Newcastle or the team that went 0-4 down to Arsenal in about half an hour? I don't think Leicester are good enough defensively to get more than a draw, but they may well get that point with some boosted enthusiasm under a new manager. Prediction: Leicester 2-2 West HamEverton vs. Wolves
A team who can't score goals (Everton) vs. a team who can't stop conceding them (Wolves). This should be interesting. Wolves have a surprisingly good record against Everton and it's tempting to pick them on the basis of their superior attacking quality, but surely even the Toffees can score against this Wolves defence? I'm going to risk an away win. Things just don't look right for Everton at the moment, Gary O'Neil seems to grab a result when he really needs one and surely Wolves won't concede 3 penalties again? Prediction: Everton 1-2 WolvesManchester City vs. Nottingham Forest
I'm very aware that I could be on 0/3 with my picks at this point so my confidence is likely to be about as high as Manchester City's heading into this game. They will start winning against at some point. But when? I think this might be the game, but I'm obviously very aware that a Nottingham Forest goal at some point might throw them off completely. I thought Pep Guardiola made the right call dropping Ederson after some really poor displays, though Stefan Ortega didn't exactly bring calm to the side when conceding that penalty at Anfield. Prediction: Manchester City 2-0 Nottingham ForestNewcastle vs. Liverpool
I don't think anyone has fully got their head around how remarkable Liverpool's start to the season has been under Arne Slot. Looking through their results this season as a whole is quite something. Based on current form, Newcastle aren't likely to slow them down. Prediction: Newcastle 1-3 LiverpoolSouthampton vs. Chelsea
Southampton did well to get a point at Brighton but I really don't fancy their chances here. Chelsea look really good in attack at the moment so likely won't even need the goals that Saints tend to gift away in most of their matches, even if Enzo Maresca opts to rotate his giant squad. Chelsea give up some chances themselves, but as the Superbru Insights Preview shows on the picks page, Saints are going to be without a number of key players. Prediction: Southampton 0-3 ChelseaArsenal vs. Manchester United
I'm excited to see how this game goes (it's going to be tough to keep an eye on everything on Wednesday!) but I think you have to go with Arsenal here. It's been a while since Man. United have won at the Emirates and they don't look ready to do so yet under Ruben Amorim. Arsenal look like their old selves again with Martin Odegaard back. Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Manchester UnitedAston Villa vs. Brentford
I'd imagine Aston Villa fans are pretty concerned by their current performances as they look miles off what we've become used to under Unai Emery, though Emery has conceded himself they no longer have the element of surprise on teams since expectations have been raised. This needs to be a win for them and I think they'll manage one based upon how terrible Brentford have been away from home (while being excellent at home!). Prediction: Aston Villa 2-1 BrentfordFulham vs. Brighton
Another tricky one but Fulham haven't looked as good as usual in recent home games and I have a feeling Brighton might take this as it's a relatively tough fixture which they seem to prefer to a home fixture vs. bottom of the league. It could easily go either way but Brighton's attacking options are so strong which is why it's not really a surprise to see Evan Ferguson being offered to other clubs on a loan. Prediction: Fulham 1-2 BrightonBournemouth vs. Tottenham
One more difficult prediction to finish with and I was thinking of going with Bournemouth or a draw for this game but if Dominic Solanke is back fit, perhaps narrative means he scores the winner against his former club? A bit like Brighton, I wouldn't be surprised to see Tottenham win this game after dropping points at home at the weekend. Prediction: Bournemouth 1-2 TottenhamHow many of these 10 do you agree with?
