Netherlands squad named for 2026 World Cup

The Netherlands squad for this year's World Cup is here!

Netherlands squad

Ronald Koeman has settled on his squad and it certainly isn't short of quality.

Here's the 26-man list in full:

Captain Virgil van Dijk is one of several high quality Premier League defenders on the list, while there's also plenty of talent in midfield through the likes of Frenkie de Jong (Barcelona), Tijjani Reijnders (Man City) and Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool).

An injury to Xavi Simons during Tottenham's run-in will have been very frustrating for Koeman, so it will be interesting to see how the attack shapes up. Memphis Depay, who plays in Brazil these days, is the Netherlands' all-time top goalscorer and provides considerable experience alongside Wout Weghorst, but keep an eye on Donyell Malen who has had a remarkable loan spell with Roma.

Having struggled to nail down a spot at parent club Aston Villa, Malen went to Italy in January and scored 14 goals in 18 Serie A games.

How will they get on?

The Netherlands have been drawn in what should be a fascinating Group L. Japan and Sweden will each fancy their chances of challenging the Dutch for top spot, while group underdogs Tunisia are often a very stubborn, defensively strong side.

Let us know in the comments what you make of the squad.

Contenders definitely. This squad looks better than the other squads you posted so far.
