Jack's Round 4 Premier League Predictions

Happy Friday, everyone.

For the first time this season, there isn't a Friday night Premier League game, so there's a bit more time to think about your picks before 5 matches are all played at once at 15:00 tomorrow.

This week, we've also had the opening Champions League round but the league phase of that tournament is always quite predictable in comparison, so it's back to the challenging weekend action!

Last round

6/10 correct picks and 11 points so another round rated '👏' on the Superbru Football app.

I would like to thank Ainsley Maitland-Niles for his late equaliser that earned me 1.5pts because I thought all the Man Utd to win 1-2 predictions were about to ruin me! What a goal that was as well.

The Palace win at Fulham was the other notable one. It came in a far more unorthodox manner than I'd anticipated, so there was definitely some luck there, and as you'll see with my picks this week, I'm still really not sure about Palace.

That prediction was all based on head-to-head, as I said last week.



So far by round I've had 11, 11.5 and 11 points. Pleasing consistency and I would 100% take another similar round this weekend with some tough predictions coming up.

Round 4

For the early kick-offs, my bold predictions are that Hull will not only concede but concede quite a few at Stamford Bridge this weekend, barring a truly incredible afternoon from impressive new goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis (pictured in the cover photo). I also think Ipswich can get something at Crystal Palace.

I almost went with an Ipswich win to go all out on an upset there, but I don't really trust them either. Palace are obviously favourites and may have kicked into gear with that midweek Cup win, but I remain far from convinced for now.

They were played off the park by Fulham for large parts last week, it's just that Fulham currently have zero defensive structure under Alvaro Arbeloa.

Speaking of which, I honestly hope for Fulham's sake that they've worked on defence this week because otherwise my prediction for that game at Anfield may prove conservative. Liverpool can still be got at and I think they'll concede but the attack is starting to look very encouraging for Reds fans.



Beyond that, I reckon Tottenham might not only score a goal but also win a match this weekend though that's largely based on Everton's awful record at Spurs. I've gone 0-1 for the late kick-off too because, you know, Arsenal.

I've played safe and gone Brighton on Sunday but it wouldn't shock me at all if Coventry get at least a point there.

I also think there's far more of a chance of Manchester United winning this week than I did last week, because they have so often found a way in the derby in previous seasons even when in a far worse place than they are at the moment. However, it's been a very impressive start for Enzo Maresca at City.

Finally, I haven't got a clue what will happen in the Monday night game. Very hard to call 😅

Storylines to watch in Round 4

For those that, like me, love a bit of a narrative:

🥊 The Manchester derby
An obvious one to kick us off. Either Enzo Maresca wins his first derby in charge of Manchester City and everyone really starts taking notice of them this season, or United get a result that makes us all feel as if the title race is over already.

🇧🇷 Who is Richarlison supporting on Saturday?
Reportedly currently in a legal battle to get his Spurs contract terminated, Richarlison is not a happy man at the moment but we all know he loves Everton, or at least we thought he did until he reportedly decided not to join them a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure he'll be at the game but if he is, I wouldn't mind a camera shot on him if and when a goal goes in.
