Introducing Official Cash Leagues on Superbru

We are excited to announce that we have teamed up with Plucky to offer cash leagues on Superbru.

For the Six Nations, we will run the first-ever Public Cash League, where players can pay £5 to enter, and the winner will take home the prize pot at the end of the tournament.

For future tournaments, we will also enable Private Cash Leagues, whereby your pool captain can choose to make it a paid league, and configure the entry fees and prize structure. This means you can play for money with your mates, while Plucky takes care of all the admin for you.

This year’s Six Nations will feature the first-ever Public Cash League on Superbru and you could win at least £500.

It costs £5 to enter to the league, entries will be pooled and the winner will take home the pot. We are guaranteeing a minimum prize of £500, and it could be a lot more depending on how many people join.

Once you're in, you can follow the leaderboard and track your progress on our website or through the Leagues tab on the Superbru Rugby app.

What is Plucky?

Plucky is a trading name of Sweepstake Technologies Ltd, a UK company licensed in the UK and Ireland to provide pool betting. Plucky’s platform allows players within a Superbru league to, in effect, bet on themselves in an online version of a traditional “pool”.

Participants can opt to pay an entry fee into the prize pool. Paying participants are ranked according to their mini-league performance and the winning participant receives their share of the prize pool minus a small administration fee paid to Plucky.

Players may not be aware but any ‘paid leagues’ which are conducted via social media or message boards are unregulated and therefore participants are not subject to identity verification, age checks or any tools to prevent social harm and problem gambling.

Plucky provides an independent regulated and audited platform which gives multiple benefits to Superbru players:
  • Ensures that all paid league funds are safe and secure.
  • Ensure that all participants are over 18.
  • Ensures that all participants are not self-excluded from gambling.
  • Ensures that all participants are permitted to enter according to the local regulations.

This facility will be available in the UK and Ireland to begin with, and we have plans to extend to Australia in the short term and other markets like South Africa in the medium term, depending on licensing.

Went thru the steps, paid the cash - not showing my name yet. I've deleted a couple of leagues as I was on the maximum number. Maybe it will just take time to update.

Thanks Liam - we're looking into it. FYI you won't need to use up a league slot for this one. 29 Jan 18:26

Hi Graeme, so am I right in saying that you've managed to create an account on Plucky but you haven't yet joined the league and paid the entry fee yet? You should be able to go straight to the league via the links in the article above or if you'd rather have a direct one to Plucky there's a link here for you to copy and paste and try: https://app.plucky.com/SB/score-predictor/results?leagueId=1 31 Jan 15:19

Thanks for reply Jack, I did manage to get in via the link above as well, but it a road block with the way they wanted to transfer the money as I don't use a password, couldn't find a way round this, so will give it a miss this time. Thanks 3 Feb 16:18

For future paid plucky leagues, is there going to be an option to award a weekly or round winner prize as a percentage of the pot, say for season long football/rugby or the F1 3 Feb 17:00
