F1 Preview: British Grand Prix
Austrian GP review
A scintillating drive from Verstappen saw the Dutch driver claim his second consecutive victory at Red Bull's home circuit to the delight of the Orange Army. He came through the field superbly after the pit stops to pass Vettel, Bottas and Leclerc en route. Leclerc himself put in a great performance but could do little to stop the charging Red Bull. It is just a matter of time before the young Ferrari driver is on the top step.It was a subdued weekend for Mercedes as they were suffering from overheating and it was the first time this season Hamilton failed to finish on the podium. Bottas by some consolation did manage that feat for the Silver Arrows who showed the first signs of vulnerability in 2019. It was also a good day for McLaren and Alfa Romeo as all of their drivers finished inside the points. For McLaren, Norris finished a 'best of the rest' P6 whilst Sainz made his way through the pack expertly to come home in 8th. The excitement builds as we return to Silverstone next time out
Austrian GP Top 10: 1. Verstappen, 2. Leclerc, 3. Bottas, 4. Vettel, 5. Hamilton, 6. Norris, 7. Gasly, 8. Sainz, 9. Raikkonen, 10. Giovinazzi
British GP
In 2018 it was Ferrari and Vettel who emerged victorious after the opening lap drama where his team-mate Raikkonen collided with Hamilton, ultimately ending the British drivers hopes of a grand prix victory. Despite the incident, both drivers ended up on the podium, with Raikkonen ahead of Hamilton making it a 1-2 for the Scuderia.
After Mercedes' winning streak was finally put to an end in Austria, will their rivals be able to strike again or will the Silver Arrows bounce back in style?
My top 10 prediction - 1. Hamilton, 2. Vettel, 3. Verstappen, 4. Bottas, 5. Leclerc, 6. Raikkonen, 7. Gasly, 8. Norris, 9. Sainz, 10. Ricciardo
