Cricket World Cup: Round Four Predictions!

I've been fairly happy with Round 3 of the CWC so far after picking up Margin Points for both the India and New Zealand wins. I didn't expect England to score quite so many on that Cardiff pitch and the SA v West Indies game is currently looking as if it may be rained off like the round opener was between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

In Round 4 we have just three games and they'll each have one team being backed by a large majority of Superbru players in my opinion. That doesn't mean they will be one-sided games though by any means. It certainly looks as if there'll be upsets scattered throughout this tournament and fantasy picks remain as tough as ever. The issue of rain is unlikely to go away any time soon though, we're expected to have a rather damp week here in the UK!

Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka

Judging by the form shown in this World Cup so far alone, there's only one winner here. Bangladesh have looked very competitive and though they've only won the one game like Sri Lanka, their performances have been far better. Sri Lanka have had plenty of time to prepare for this following their abandoned match vs. Pakistan but the news that Nuwan Pradeep is out of this one with injury is a significant blow. Prediction: Bangladesh (comfortable)

Australia vs. Pakistan

Australia's chase against India was a strange one in that they never really looked urgent enough to reach the target they had been set. However, they still showed enough quality in that match for it to feel very hard to pick against them in this one. We all know Pakistan are capable of winning this game after beating England at Trent Bridge but Australia's seamers will cause problems and Steve Smith looks in very good form. I expect this to be pretty high scoring given the small ground and the talent both teams have but the Aussies should edge it. Prediction: Australia (narrow)

India vs. New Zealand

The only two teams yet to lose in this World Cup. New Zealand have played an extra game and so technically have the better record but India have looked so good and I'm struggling to see them lose this. Their performances against South Africa and Australia have been extremely professional and even New Zealand's bowling attack will struggle to get such a strong batting lineup out cheaply. India's top three have all already got good scores in this tournament and their opening bowlers are even better than New Zealand's which is saying something. Prediction: India (easy)

Best of luck to all!

C'mon chaps, I arrived on Thursday and was amazed to find that it rained pretty much all the way from Heath Row to Dorset. SO, if all the rain is between LHR and Dorset then all the scheduled grounds should be ok.
