Champions League: 2025-26 Play-Off 2nd Leg Previews

After the first legs of this season's Champions League play-off ties, things are looking reasonably comfortable for Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and particularly Newcastle United, but there's a very real chance we'll be left without any Italian clubs in the Round of 16.

Here are your match previews for each of the second legs taking place across today and tomorrow.

Atletico Madrid (3) vs. (3) Club Brugge

Club Brugge deserve immense credit for keeping this tie alive having fought back from a 0-2 deficit to pick up a 3-3 draw in the first leg in Belgium, but they remain clear underdogs to progress now that they have to travel to the Metropolitano. Atletico Madrid are notoriously strong at home so Brugge will have to show the kind of attacking bravery we saw in the second half of last week's first leg if they're to stand much of a chance, but recent home displays from Atleti suggest they'll score plenty more goals themselves.

The Metropolitano hasn't been quite as much of a fortress as it has been in previous years so far in 2026, but since surprise defeats to Bodo/Glimt in this competition and Real Betis in LaLiga, Atleti have beaten Barcelona 4-0 and Espanyol…
