2025-26 Premier League: Round 2 Match Previews

Round 2 of the Premier League begins this evening (Friday) when West Ham host Chelsea at the London Stadium.

Like last week, the round runs through to a Monday night game which will see Newcastle take on Liverpool at St James' Park.

West Ham vs. Chelsea

This should be an intriguing start to Round 2 as both West Ham and Chelsea will feel as if they need a response following their respective Round 1 displays. Graham Potter, who is of course a former Chelsea manager, saw his West Ham side fall away after conceding the first goal at Sunderland last weekend, eventually losing 3-0. That means there's big pressure on the Hammers to give their home fans a performance here in their first match at the London Stadium this season, as a similar scoreline to last week would mean Potter would already be under severe pressure at this early stage of the campaign having struggled to improve West Ham…
