Premier League: Team of Round Four

Following a weekend of Premier League action that saw Liverpool, Chelsea and Watford maintain their 100% records to go into the international break with 12 points, it is the strikers that stand out in the Team of Round 4 with a centre forward finishing as the highest points scorer on both Saturday and Sunday in our 5-a-side game.

Despite this weekly Team of the Round feature being used to simply show the highest scoring players in each position as opposed to the best possible team that abides by transfer limits, this week's XI is a possible lineup you could have in our 11-a-side fantasy game since there are no more than 2 players from a single club. Only Chelsea have more than one representative in this week's side, as can be seen in the graphic below.

Defence

Despite conceding twice in Burnley's defeat to Manchester United on Sunday, Joe Hart still manages a place in this TOTR thanks saving a Paul Pogba penalty and six shots in total. It appears there is a genuine battle for a starting spot between Hart and Heaton at Turf Moor, and with Nick Pope still to return from injury, Burnley goalkeepers remain a risk in fantasy football! Hart has a back four in front of him made up of players from four different teams, as the clean sheets managed by Marcos Alonso's Chelsea, Jonathan Castro Otto's Wolves and Cedric Soares's Southampton earn them a place in the TOTR along with Jose Holebas who managed two assists as Watford defeated Tottenham.

Holebas's performance on Sunday means there are now no Premier League players with more assists than the Watford left-back this season (tied with Mendy on 4) and no defenders with a greater amount of points than him on our fantasy game (tied with Robertson on 27). Fellow TOTR member Marcos Alonso sits just two points behind Holebas on the season tally leaderboard after Round 4 and the Spaniard looks an especially strong pick given his very attacking approach and upcoming fixtures against Cardiff City and West Ham.

Midfield

This week's midfield three includes a relatively unlikely player in Huddersfield's Philip Billing who scored against Everton to earn his team an impressive point at Goodison Park. All three midfielders gained bonus performance points in addition to those received for their goals. As is often the case, Eden Hazard picked up an additional point for completing three dribbles, Raheem Sterling was awarded for winning three tackles and three fouls in the final third while Billing showed the value there can be in more defensive minded midfielders by picking up points for tackles and interceptions.

Strikers

As you can see, the three highest scoring players in this week's TOTR are all strikers, with Brighton's Glenn Murray this round's ideal captain. Murray bagged a vital brace to turn things around for the Seagulls who came from 0-2 down to grab a point against Fulham at the Amex. Having both been yellow carded, it is the fouls Glenn Murray won in the final third that saw him manage a point more than Romelu Lukaku who also scored a brace this weekend in Manchester United's 2-0 win at Burnley.

The final striker and member of this week's TOTR is Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette who performed very strongly after being given a first start of the season by Unai Emery. Having previously stated that he didn't think a team that included both Aubameyang and Lacazette was possible at this early stage of the season, Emery decided to risk it at Cardiff and was rewarded as both players bagged to hand the Gunners a victory. Since Lacazette also assisted Aubameyang's goal it is he that makes the Team of Round 4, though choosing between the pair in your own fantasy teams is now more difficult than ever!
