Premier League Predictor: Round 14 Predictions

There's not much time for recovery following Round 13 as we're straight into our first midweek round of the season today as Round 14 starts with Newcastle v Norwich tonight.

The weekend round obviously only ended up with 9 games after the postponement of Burnley v Spurs (we'll reschedule that accordingly in our tournaments once the new date is confirmed) so I was fairly pleased with 6/9 including Brentford's win and the draw at Norwich. Brighton's draw with Leeds was one I perhaps should have got but Chelsea let a lot of us down with that draw against United!

Let's get into Round 14 then and here are my picks for each game.

Newcastle vs. Norwich

This is obviously huge for both teams in the fight for survival and it's one of those games where I feel like Norwich are the team showing more promise at the moment but surely Newcastle can't go all season without a win and this is the most favourable fixture they could ask for? That admittedly illogical reason and the fact that this is Howe's first game in person at St James' Park has me picking a home win. Prediction: Newcastle 3-1 Norwich

Leeds vs. Crystal Palace

Another tricky one. Palace's unbeaten run came to an end at the weekend so it'll be interesting to see how they respond and Leeds have done well to remain fairly competitive in each of their recent fixtures but they're still lacking that edge up front. Let's go for a draw. Prediction: Leeds 1-1 Crystal Palace

Southampton vs. Leicester

Leicester were back to looking quite sharp in attack at the weekend but they were helped a fair bit by Watford's defending at times. I still don't really trust the Foxes this season and Southampton have been fairly solid at home so I'm going with another draw here. Prediction: Southampton 1-1 Leicester

Watford vs. Chelsea

Watford's injury list is growing at a pretty alarming rate for Ranieri and this would be an incredibly tough game even at full strength. Chelsea will be annoyed not to have beaten Man Utd on Sunday but they still look very good to me and Tuchel will enjoy having Lukaku back available for selection now. Prediction: Watford 0-3 Chelsea

West Ham vs. Brighton

Brighton's form streak on the picks page makes a draw pretty attractive, doesn't it? As does the list of recent results between the pair! West Ham are favourites but after their recent defeats I think this might be tricky as the Seagulls are very difficult to beat. Prediction: West Ham 1-1 Brighton

Wolves vs. Burnley

There hasn't been much talk about them but Wolves have quietly been going really nicely after a difficult start for Bruno Lage and I think they can continue that here. Burnley have also been improving and it was great to see Sean Dyche keeping up his hard as nails image wearing a single layer in the snow on Sunday but it's hard to back the Clarets to win away when they haven't done so yet this season. Prediction: Wolves 1-0 Burnley

Aston Villa vs. Manchester City

Gerrard has made a very impressive start at Villa and it would obviously be more than impressive if he can manage a win here too. There'll be a lot of spotlight on Jack Grealish if he features but it sounds as if he'll only be making a late cameo if he plays at all following his injury and you'd expect City to get the job done. Guardiola's side have been impressive in every away game they've had since their opening day defeat. Prediction: Aston Villa 0-2 Manchester City

Everton vs. Liverpool

This is normally a fixture you look at and think there's a chance Liverpool drop points given the atmosphere and how motivated Everton will be to hold on to at least a point but the Toffees just don't look anywhere close to being able to cope with the Reds at the moment. A drop in form early in the season was always a potential concern for Everton given they've decided to hire a former Liverpool manager and I think the mood around Goodison will be made even worse after this game as it's hard to see anything other than a comfortable away win. Prediction: Everton 0-2 Liverpool

Tottenham vs. Brentford

I think Brentford could make this quite awkward for Tottenham who are yet to look too convincing under Conte. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to go against a home win though as Spurs should edge it and all it takes is for either Son or Kane to find form as I was saying ahead of their Burnley fixture. Prediction: Tottenham 2-1 Brentford

Manchester United vs. Arsenal

Another tricky one to finish! I never tend to back Arsenal in big away games but they have had better results at Old Trafford than they have at the other 'big six' stadiums in the last couple of years. United have said Carrick will remain in charge for this one despite Rangnick being confirmed so there'll be no dramatic change in style just yet but you'd think the United players will still be very eager to impress and Cristiano Ronaldo in particular will undoubtedly be fired up after being benched for Chelsea. I'm really tempted by another draw but I think United are slightly more likely to win. Prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Arsenal

Best of luck to you all with your own Round 14 predictions!
