Submission of predictions

  • The submission of predictions is final and predictions may not be changed after being lodged in the game database.
  • The Tour de France schedule stored in the application is that which has been officially released as the fixtures list prior to the start of the tournament.
  • It is possible that the tournament schedule may change. Nevado Ltd will make best attempts to make sure that any changes are noted in the game database, but under no circumstances does it guarantee that the kick-off times listed are correct.
  • If for any reason players are unable to submit their predictions (e.g. server malfunction, client-side malfunction, incorrectly listed kick-off time) they may submit their predictions by email instead to admin@superbru.com. The timestamp of the email will be checked to confirm the validity of the predictions (they must have been sent before the cut-off time in question). The email may not be attended to immediately but if it is valid it will be entered and scoring retrospectively adjusted.

Scoring

  • The finality of scoring is totally at the discretion of Nevado Ltd.
  • Scoring may be changed at any time by Nevado Ltd without exception. Examples of where this may be necessary include the correction of an incorrect score submission and the updating of scores to reflect the input of players' predictions that were submitted by email and only loaded some time later.

Rules for prizes

  • A grand prize will be issued to the top South Africa-based player (i.e. resident in South Africa) at the end of the Tour de France (TDF formula).
  • No prizes will be issued to winners of individual pools.
  • Winning players will be notified by email.
  • Only one player will qualify for the grand prize of R10,000 worth of Specialized gear, even where there are ties in the points distribution (see Determination of Winners and Tie-Breaking Mechanism below for details on tie-breaking)
  • All registered participants of the SuperBru Tour de France tournament will go into a lucky draw to win R5,000 worth of Specialized gear.
  • Any winning player that cannot be contacted by email as a result of having submitted an invalid email address to the game on registration will be disqualified from the prize and the prize will go to the next best, or next drawn player.
  • Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. Nevado Ltd, Sport24 and Specialized reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value at any time.
  • Winners may be requested to take part in promotional activity and Nevado Ltd, Sport24 and Specialized reserve the right to use the names of winners and their photographs in any publicity.
  • Employees of Nevado Ltd, 24.com and Specialized or any such person's subsidiary or associated companies, agents or members of their families or households, are not eligible to win prizes. If such a person qualifies for a prize he or she will forfeit it to the next best, or drawn player.
  • These rules are governed by the laws of South Africa, England and Wales.

Conduct

  1. All players are kindly requested to adhere to the spirit of the game, which is one of lively but polite, sports-loving, intellectual debate.
  2. In the BanterBoards and other public message systems on the site, no hate speech, racism, homophobia, profanity, or inciteful speech will be tolerated.
  3. Any player identified as making offensive remarks in the context of (2) above will be given an official warning.
  4. Any player who persists in the behaviour identified in (2) above after receiving an official warning will be banned from using the public messaging systems.
  5. Bannings are totally at the discretion of the SuperBru Tour de France administrators.
  6. If you have been offended by a comment made on one of the public messaging systems, please contact us, quoting the message and the offending player.
  7. You are free to make any statement you wish in the private messaging system, BruMail.
  8. Any player may elect to ban any other player from sending him or her BruMail. This is totally at the discretion of the player, and he or she may unban the offending player at any further point.
  9. The contents of BruMail messages will never be revealed to other players unless by choice; however the SuperBru Tour de France adminstration team reserves the right to read them.

Pool management

  1. There are two types of SuperBru Tour de France pools: public pools, created automatically as players join up, and private pools, set up by players.
  2. A private pool's captain has responsibility for that pool. He or she may control its size, decide whom to admit and whom to reject, and do anything else within the powers afforded to him or her by the site's functionality.
  3. The SuperBru Tour de France administrators may overrule any decision of a private pool captain should it see fit.
  4. A player may choose to join a different pool at his or her own discretion.
  5. If a player elects to join a public pool, he or she will be accepted automatically as long as the pool size is currently no greater than 18 players.
  6. If a player elects to join a private pool, his or her application will be presented to the captain of that pool. The captain may decide to accept or reject the application.
  7. Inter-pool movements before the kick-off of the first game suffer no penalty.
  8. Inter-pool movements after kick-off of the first game will come with the penalty of losing any Bonus Points earned thus far in the tournament.

These rules may be augmented at any time by Nevado Ltd.

In the event of any dispute regarding the Rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to the Competition, the decision of Nevado Ltd shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
