World Cup Day 19 Preview

Win for the Wallabies, Ireland v Samoa going ahead on Saturday

Welcome to your daily World Cup Predictor update, where we review the last day's action and look ahead to the next matches.

The Wallabies won their match with Georgia on Friday in unconvincing fashion, and the only fixture taking place on Saturday is Ireland v Samoa.

A reminder that the England v France and New Zealand v Italy matches have been cancelled, and there will be no points awarded on Superbru.

As things stand, every other match is going ahead, so don't forget your picks.

The Wallabies laboured to a 19-point win over Georgia, with lots of handling errors in wet conditions, along with some determined defending by the Georgians. A late try put a gloss on the scoreline, and handed a few more people those precious Margin Points!

Ireland must win with a bonus point to guarantee qualification for the knockout stages, and they have picked a strong side to try to ensure there are no hiccups. The weather forecast isn't great, and might well have an impact on the winning margin.

Good luck with your picks!

It must be in a different geographic zone to the storm, surely? 12 Oct 02:05

Yeah, it's a big storm, but Japan is a big country, so not every venue is impacted....hence some people asking why they didn't move the games last Tues / Weds when it was obvious the typhoon would hit Tokyo.

Why didn't Hooper play? He was named on the bench but didn't feature in the 23 on game day.

Having lost Savea to the typhoon, I was broken by Hooper's absence. It's a conspiracy! 12 Oct 09:18

When there is a hurricane raging in the South and two games cancelled, we can only take the weather warning seriously about the winning margins. I reduced my carefully predicted Irish win from 40 to 28 because of your weather forecast. This has cost me the lead in three pools and will be the last time I take any advice from the super Bru panel of "experts" (but then I say that every weekend when I change my picks and lose the bonus / match point )
